Gift Giving

Today's Chick's Challenge involves Holiday Gifts...hey if you can make some great gifts, the money you save can go into your craft stash winking Pictures, Images and Photos

I found these neat brass stitchable ornaments by Bucilla, at a local discount store for .69!. You are supposed to cross stitch the mesh center, and it even came with a pattern. Yeah, right...I never did enjoy cross stitch! But I could stamp something and glue it on there!

Spellbinders Nestabilities ovals fit just perfectly! I stamped one of the lighthouses from Beacon of Hope, colored it with Copics and masked it to stamp the sun. Then I used my Versamarker pen and went over the sun/lighthouse and covered with it clear embossing powder, that let me sponge the sky with distress inks without disturbing the images.

I did a similar sky on a scrap piece, stamped the sentiment and cut it apart to put on the ornament.

The entire scene was then given another coat of clear ep and glued to the brass ornament using a silicon craft glue.

Be sure to see what the other girls did by clicking on each name below.

Very nice Dawn. What a great way to repurpose other craft supplies.

Simply amazing, Dawn! I love how you were able to "see" beyond the cross-stitch project and use the frame to make something gorgeous.
