An Idea…Yup! It Worked!

sculpey blk

When I first got this new set, Ornaments, from Our Daily Bread designs  and the Spellbinders Heirloom Ornaments….I had an idea of using Sculpey clay by Polyform!

After conditioning my clay, I ran it through my “clay dedicated” pasta machine until I got the size needed. I stamped it first in Stazon black and started coloring with Twinkling H2O’s…but they just didn’t “grab” the clay and lay down a nice color. I just laid down the SB die, pressed down good to leave a good impression, then took my TH scissors and carefully trimmed it.

So…*lightbulb*… why not try acrylic paint. Even the gold trim is paint.

After painting it though, I did have to over stamp (using my stamp positioner) because I lost some of the image definition. Then I baked it in “clay dedicated” toaster oven @275 for 15 min.

Shhhhh…don’t tell the boss, but I’m going to send this to her for one of her 9 trees! LOL

I wanted to dress up the gold cording a bit so I dug through my beads. The rose ones were perfect but I needed some gold beads with big enough holes to fit the cording….hmmmm…

*another lightbulb moment*… I used wooden beads and colored them with my Krylon gold leaf pen!

I’ve done lots of light switch covers and other things with Sculpey but never something quite like this! Fine tuned, this could be FUN!!

That's IT! I'm Leafing!!

Yuck, Yuck... Krylon Leaf Pens that is.

This week the Chicks on the Farm are putting their Krylon Leaf pens to work! What fun! Here's a sample of what I did...pretty simple, quick and easy too *wink*.

These two pieces are Polymer Clay, stamped, baked, colored with Copic markers and Krylon Gold and Silver Leaf pens. I want to get some cool beads for the silver one...this is all I had for the picture...*boring*
Victorian II Backgrounder and Bold Curls were the stamps used.
My best friend has been saving these spice jars for me, so I did this one, filled with lavender bath salts for her as a thank you. Stamped with
Beautiful, Time to Stamp and Scripty Words, the edges of the cardstock are Silver leafed. I also went around the lid edge and the ring at the top.

Ok, so I got carried away! But I had to show you 3 of the 4 Krylon Leaf pens I have plus I just got these sets Saturday...I had to play!

This card is a combo of All Things Fall and The Great Canadian Stamp Set. The leaves are from Great Canadian stamped on shrink plastic, heated and edged with Krylon Copper. I also colored the brads and edged the moose and sentiment with copper.

Be sure to see what the girls did too!

Just Having Fun

I got my new Thomas Kinkade days ago...
*gasp*...this is the first chance I've gotten to ink it up! I ended up making it work for the Color Challenge on SCS too, teehee.

Colored with Copic markers and accented with white gel pen (the flowers along the edge of the sidewalk, tree, bushes, flowers in the bushes and stars & stripes on the flag)
The double ended tag is edged with a
Krylon gold leaf pen. I colored the brads with it too! Those pens are just too fun! I just love all the new sentiments Lisa Strahl (Mona Lisa) is developing, this one from Friend Centers.

The base of the card is stamped with the new Pin Dot Scrapblock™ which is 6x6, my card is 5.25x4.75 so a normal background would be a tad short. I already have more on my wish list and Mona's mind is working overtime thinking up new images!!
