Summer Gardens and Friends

My Purple Coneflowers are just beautiful right now and attracting so many bees and butterflies, one of my favorite summer flowers!

Here is a card that looks like it could have come right from my garden!

This is ODBD Forever Friends, colored with Copics and done “out of box” (tutorial here). The bee is from Butterfly and Bugs. Dies used are Vintage Borders, Layered Lacey Ovals, Vintage Labels, Pierced Rectangles, and Butterfly and Bugs die.

I even finished the inside for a change!

A Blooming Garden and a Sketch!

Ahh, the beauty of Summer! I can stand at any window in my house and see a variety of color… red, purple, bright pink, orange, coral, white… Lilies, Hostas, Bee Balm, Phlox.

This first card is ODBD Sweet as Perfume on a center step Fun and Fancy Fold. I used watercolor paper and watercolor crayons with a waterbrush. The sentiment is on Vintage Borders which coordinates with Vintage Labels. I also used Grass Border, Pierced Rectangles, and Fence dies.

 

My iris are done although I do have a variety that is supposed to bloom twice in a year…hope so!

This was done for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast, the 600th sketch! We could choose any sketch from 500 on, I chose 532. My earliest SC I could find in my gallery was 53!

This is A True Friend colored with Copics and Flower Soft added. I also used Layered Lacey Ovals, Pierced Rectangles, Vintage Ephemera Collection, and Blooming Garden Collection.

The Counsel of a Friend…

Sharing a peek at a new set that will be released July 1, Sweet as Perfume, from Our Daily Bread Designs!

This is also the sketch challenge on Splitcoast today.

I colored with Copics and hand cut the Plumeria. Other ODBD used, Soulful Stitches Collection, Butterfly and Bugs, Butterfly and Bugs die, Layered Lacey Squares, Double Stitched Squares, Small Bow, and Mini Bow.

Howdy!

Howdy, happy Saturday!

Here’s a peek at part of the mid month release from Our Daily Bread Designs, a silhouette perfect for those masculine cards, Howdy. Just in time for Father’s Day! Available May 16th.

The background is air brushed with my homemade cloud template. This is also the Inspiration Challenge and Sketch Challenge this week on Splitcoast.
Stamped with Memento Rich Cocoa, sponged with Ranger Brushed Corduroy.

These are the copics used for the sky. Other ODBD products, Pierced Circles, Pierced Rectangles, and Circles.

Looking Back at the ODBD May Release

Today the Breadsticks are taking a look back at the May release from Our Daily Bread Designs!

I used Tea Time, colored with Copics and die cut with the coordinating Teapot and Roses.  I didn’t put the pretty ‘roses’ lid on the teapot so you could see the pretty top! The Teapot and roses are also embossed in clear to give them a ‘ceramic’ look.

I also used Majestic Medallion , Pierced Ovals and Pierced Rectangles from this release. Other ODBD used, Ovals, Beautiful Borders and Rustic Beauty Collection.

 

Here is another, a quick card needed for a friend’s birthday (when you look at the calendar and realize OH NO! IT’S TODAY!)

Teaming up With The Greeting Farm!

Hi and welcome to the CardMaker Blog team and The Greeting Farm blog hop! You should have arrived here from Lisa’s blog, but no fear if you just happened along…the entire hop list is on the CardMaker post. Be sure to read all the way to end of my post for info on a fantastic give-away!

Here are the 2 sets I chose for my post today, so versatile!

 

 

 

 

 

 

I stamped the fox, masked it and stamped the stump. I colored the images with Copics and a white paint marker. I used my MISTI and overstamped the images again to make them pop. I masked the images then air-brushed the background. I also added a little white acrylic paint with my finger for some puffy clouds.
With fine tip markers, I sketched in some grass and flowers.

My second sample is one for a quick, “I need a card NOW” type card. LOL

I masked off where the embossing folder would be, and sponged with inks, then embossed with the folder.
