Purple Finches and Flowers… a Sneak Peek

Finch Collage, Hymn Collage, Scripture Collection 10, Quatrefoil Pattern die, Recipe Card and Tag die, Our Daily Bread designs

A peek at several new things coming April 1 from Our Daily Bread designs! A little different look, some collage stamps and some yummy dies!!

This is a combo of Finch Collage and Hymn Collage along with Scripture Collection 10 {Mar Anniversary release}, and the Exclusive Custom Quatrefoil Pattern die. The tag is also from the March release, Recipe Card and Tags die.

Finch Collage, Hymn Collage, Scripture Collection 10, Quatrefoil Pattern die, Recipe Card and Tag die, Our Daily Bread designs

I used Spellbinders Grand Labels 4 for all my layers, several pieces of thin cardboard are between the front and back.

My base layer is simply sponged clouds from my cloud template. I then cut a layer with the ODBD Exclusive Quatrefoil Pattern die and put over the top of the clouds.

The collage layer is the Finch Collage and Hymn Collage, stamped carefully along the edges and colored with Copics, Grand Labels 4 partially cut just inside the top and then the fussy cutting with a craft knife. {you can use a piece of scrap paper to roughly mask one side of the tag when stamping the other side if you want… I just mainly inked up what I wanted stamped}

I embellished over the collages with the Recipe Card and Tags die stamped with Scripture Collection 10 and sponged with distress ink around the edges.

I stamped and colored Hymn Collage again for the extra cut out flowers and added some Cheery Lynn Designs Tropical and Fanciful Flourishes, also colored with Copics. A few Martha punched Branches, and Want2Scrap pearls….and done!

I even finished the back!

Be sure to check in April 1 for the complete release! Some amazing creations for sure!!

Are You Inspired?…#134 A Sassy Challenge

#134Inspiration

I’m hostess again this week for our Sassy Challenge! I thought it would be fun to do an inspiration challenge. I love this picture I found… I wish I could say it’s one I took of my garden wall…but, nope, I found it online!

I can dream!!

Sassy Cheryl's, Sassy Sally's Fall Pumpkin

Today I’m using Sassy Sally’s Fall Pumpkin! Cute as can be!! Do you think she’s going to carve it or make a pie?!

Sassy Cheryl's, Sassy Sally's Fall Pumpkin, OWH #139

I loved the bricks, the colors…so I sort of went with the photo design. But you don’t have to…whatever inspires you when you look at it!

It’s a Sizzix embossing folder sponged with Distress inks {as are the foliage and lattice}, Spellbinders Labels 8, Basic Lattice and Botanical Swirls and Accents, also Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish, and Memory Box Window Box. I filled the window box with Flower Soft Autumn and Green Leaf.

This is also for the OWH sketch this week, flipped.

Our Sassy Challenge this week is again from that sassy gal, Judy…and she wants to see
POLKA DOTS!

Sassy Cheryl's Peyton Bear

This is Peyton Bear… just too cute!

She’s colored with Copics then I used white acrylic paint and the end of a little paint brush and my embossing tool dipped in the paint for the dots!

Sassy Cheryl's Peyton Bear

She’s atop Spellbinders Beaded Ovals that I sponged with ink while still in the die. The lacy doily is Cheery Lynn Designs Italian Flourish.
The polka dot dp is DCWV Pet Stack.

Crocus, Cornflower… my Garden Colors

DreamSparrowFS275 blk

My garden of new Flower Soft colors that is!

I have several samples to share today, I just love the new colors… Crocus, Cornflower and Ultra Fine White!

For this card I used Our Daily Bread designs He Watches Me with matching Sparrow Die, coloring with Copics and adding Crocus to the thistles. The sentiment is from Dreams.

DreamSparrowFS275

I decided to color this one as a House Finch…I just love to hear them sing, don’t you?!
Spellbinders Labels 18, Kraft layer trimmed around embossed area, white layer cut with same size in my Grand Calibur and Petite Ovals, black layer I traced around die and handcut. Then I stuck in some Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lynn Designs.
The border punch is by EK Success. Embossing folders Swiss Dots and Kassie’s Brocade.

DreamSparrowFS275 clsup

I love how it turned out!

Dreams TeaCup.

Here is my next example, using Springtime Card Toppers Collection. I finally bought a set last time I worked with Kelley at ODBD!
I stamped the quote from Dreams with Versafine Onyx Black then embossed with clear. The teacup image is already shaped similar to Labels 1 which I used to cut my card. I added some extra sponging around the edges before adding my Flower Soft.

He Gave Me You…From Flower Soft!

Apr25 blk

The Flower Soft team’s challenge this week is featuring Toppers and Stamps!

I’m sharing this fairly quick card today, using Flower Soft’s Floral Sentiment 2 and the background layer from Floral Series 2.

I say fairly quick because placing the flourishes took the most time! lol

Apr25

A beautiful verse… I chose to frame it with Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles and top that with Cheery Lynn Designs Fanciful Flourish.

Make Me An Instrument…

Apr15 blk

Ever since I got this new ODBD stamp, Prayer of St Francis, I had this idea… finally, I put it to paper!
Although, I’d originally thought I’d
put it on a card front.

If you’re anything like me, you have a drawer, container… or {CLOSET} … yes, I do…. full of alterables. Little (or big) treasures that only a paper crafter can appreciate!

This particular one I found in the reduced aisle, a plaque, 5x5. I think it had a rooster on it…lol

FrancisPrayerPlaqueFS1

I stamped the prayer 5 times, then using Spellbinders Labels 25 cut each layer with my Grand Calibur, and sponged with Old Paper Distress ink.

Taking my black Copic, I went around the edges of the plaque for my border and cut a piece of Basic Grey Little Black Dress to fit.

Apr15 clsup sd

The paper flowers are more from my ‘closet’. For filler I used Flower Soft wires curled around a chopstick, and wires with Flower Soft glue and Ivory, Ultra Fine Koala Grey and Black

FrancisPrayerPlaqueFS clsup

The leafy swirls are Fanciful Flourishes by Cheery Lynn Designs cut from the same Basic Grey pack.

FrancisPrayerPlaqueFS oval

I love how it turned out… much better than the rooster!

I hope I’ve inspired you to dig something out of your stash and get creative!

Let’s Go On an Adventure! Anything Goes, #110 Sassy Challenge

110 Apr10 blk

Our Sassy Challenge this week comes from our fearless leader, the one that keeps us in line (ya, right!)… Peggy…. Anything Goes. Play along, just follow the rules you’ll find in the above link and you could be a winner!!

110 Apr10

This is a newer image from Sassy Cheryl’s, Sassy Sally Reads to Teddy. How cute is that!! It’s colored with Copics, then I used Spellbinders Classic Circles to cut the out-of-box and traced the edges of the circle with a black Copic.

110 Apr10 sd

The quote is from ODBD Quote Collection 1. I thought it looked like Sally and Teddy were sharing an adventure in the pages of the book.
The Colonial Lamp Post is from Cheery Lynn Designs. The DP is Sparkling Spring by Prima.

Pastels and a Sassy Challenge #109

Apr3 blk

Our Sassy Challenge this week is brought to us by our Sassette, Judy, Soft Pastels.

Here’s my card with Sassy Sally…

Apr3

This is Sassy Sally Loves the Birds, she’s colored with Copics and framed by Spellbinders Floral Ovals sponged with Adirondack Juniper. The sentiment is Flower Soft Floral Sentiment Design 2 on Spellbinders Labels 25. I added Fanciful Flourish from Cheery Lynn Designs, like the little birdie on the DP by My Mind’s Eye, Lost and Found.

Such a cutie!
