Hummingbird Accordian Card

If any of you get CardMaker Magazine, as soon as I saw pg 37 in the May issue, designed by Lauren Meader, I knew I had to try something!!

The card is an accordion style, 12x5 inch piece of cream cardstock scored at 2, 4, 8 & 10 inches. (guess what came today??!! my Scor-Pal! yup, I succumbed to peer pressure....not much needed... I still like my Top Score features, but like the extra scoring spaces on the SP!)

I started by stamping the Hummingbird and Flowers from Asela's Bird Sampler on the front folded card. With the help of my stamp-a-ma-jig and some masking, I stamped them again inside the folds to match and added a couple more flowers.

I then set about stamping different flowers from Silhouette Blooms I & II in various colors.

I used Distress reinkers and a waterbrush to color the hummingbird and flowers. Then carefully with my craft knife, I cut around the parts of the bird I wanted to pop out when the card was opened.

I sponged some Shabby Shutters up from the bottom and used my homemade cloud template to sponge off with Broken China.

The birds and flowers looked like they were suspended in mid-air, so I added some flourishes from Beautiful. They kinda look like vines don't you think?

It was still lacking something at the bottom, so I stamped the flowers from Beautiful with Peeled Paint...ahhh, that was it!
