This first sample uses the beautiful Roses and Rose Leaves dies. I love making flowers!! I also used the new Lattice Background die, Fancy Fan die and a sentiment from Lovely Flower.

RosesLatticeFFanBdayWM2

I started my roses by dragging cardstock through spritzed distress inks, letting it dry before die cutting. After cutting several of each die, gluing and layering, I lightly spritzed them with water and scrunched the flowers. This helps to break down the fibers in the paper allowing to shape the petals. Set them aside to thoroughly dry and they’ll hold that shape! The leaves were sponged with ink while still in the die.

For the sentiment, I trimmed the end off of the fan and sponged the edges.

My next sample is simply done using Luminous Lantern die, which can be 4 or 5 sided, and the set, To My Friend.

LuminousLantern5FriendWM2

I chose to make a 5 sided lantern. For the stamped panel, I masked the edges, stamped and sponged the background (before assembly), and added liquid pearls for fun!

LuminousLantern5Friend-top

The 5 sided version is good size and only limited to your imagination to what you could put inside!!

My daughter happened to be making cupcakes and gave me one to try in the lantern. How cute to surprise a friend on their birthday, special day or just because!!

Plenty of room for some pretty paper filler too!

Gorgeous card and lantern box. Showing the cupcake helps to visualize the size of the lanter box. I also love how you made the roses so realistic.

Your work is beautiful. I think I am going to order the lattice work die. Paper Pumpkin (Stampin' Up) had a kit with this type of pre-cut card stock and I absolutely loved it. I'm so glad you used it!

Hi Dawn, Being on the other side of the international dateline causes confusion as to the possibility of being counted into the blog hop, but it doesn't matter to me. I'm just glad to be able to comment on the beautiful projects you made! The lantern is sure to be a hit with crafters. I can picture them used for parties! Maybe someone already commented the same. Anyway, your card and the lantern are beautiful. Thanks for sharing them!
