Never Be Afraid...

279 blk

One of my ODBDDT sisters got me to thinking about this new set, As You Graduate, and some of the possibilities Dina had in mind when she created it!

NeverBeAfraid side279Who says an image has to be kept together! I decided to try this idea of inking just the top portion of the image, wiping the edge lines and stamping it three times across the top and bottom of the base! Then I did the same for the third layer, and only stamped the middle part of the image (fence) on the second layer.

I put it all together for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. (SC279)

NeverBeAfraid front279To airbrush it and keep the consistency of colors, I put a dot of 2 way glue on each piece (except the quote), let it dry (to make it removable), and put it in place where each layer would go. Then, starting from the sunrise or sunset, I worked my way up... removed the panels, adhered them to black cs, and put them back!

For the quote...isn't it an awesome quote from Corrie ten Boom!... I stamped it in Black Soot distress ink, sprinkled on clear embossing powder and heat set with my heat tool. I just airbrushed it in the same manner as the rest, popped it on foam dimensionals... and, voila!

NeverBeAfraid 279 I even finished the INside!! (thanks Mel...you inspired me!! xox)

NeverBeAfraid Inside279Now, you can see the entire scene and maybe it makes a little more sense how I did the front! Maybe? Just a little? LOL

Again, the sky is airbrushed, the rest colored with Copics.

NeverBeAfraid glitter279Can you see the Sakura Glitter pen on the butterflies?..just because!

So, that's it! Don't be afraid to play with your stamps!! It's all FUN!

Thanks for stopping!

Dawn

Holy Cow, Dawn, I'm stunned by the beauty of this card - having a difficult time wrapping my mind around it, even though you explained how you did it! Maybe if I'm trying while I'm reading the directions? I don't think I can create something this beautiful in my lifetime.

Nice work!

Grand feeling of forest exploration, just the way a journey traveler approaches the light in a forest!
Keep Looking UP!
