A Rose For You

The Featured Stamper on SCS, today has one page to her gallery...but, wow, what a page! I chose this card of Bev's to case.

For the FS you're supposed to change 2 or more things on the card. It could be a color combo, embellishements, backgrounds, or even the main image could be different but similar because you don't own the exact image.
I changed the colors and used a different rose image.

I haven't used this image from Stamps Happen in years! It's watercolored with reinkers, shadow is with Copic marker and the blending stump I use for the Prismacolor pencils...the "green" one.

I went through I don't know how many stacks of DCWV and various other pattern paper before I thought.... *LIGHTBULB MOMENT* .... why not look at the tons of wallpaper books I have! Lo and behold, in one of them was the perfect match! I really need to use them more. Lots of the books have matching borders, 2,3,4 pieces....who needs Basicgrey! LOL

So, there you have it...my tip for the week...stop by Sherwin Williams (they always have old books)...or anywhere that has wallpaper, and pick up several old wallpaper books!

recipe:
stamps:
stamps happen, psx
paper: georgia pacific white, prism sunflowers dk, wallpaper
ink: adirondack pitch black, adirondack reinkers
other stuff: spellbinder's curved rectangles, cuttlebug corner die, martha stewart border punch, waterbrush, copic marker, blending stump, foam dimensionals, zip dry glue, ribbon, punch (I can never remember the name!)

Thanks for stopping!

Great card Dawn - your rose is beautiful and great use of wallpaper! Anne Harada (itsapassion on SCS) just sent us (the Double Dare Challenge group) wall paper to use on our card as her challenge this week - she got a ton of books at her local wallpaper store apparently!

Your rose is stunning! I love the idea of using wallpaper for DP. Hmmmm...looks like a trip to the local paint/wallpaper store is in order.
