It’s a Clearsnap CardMaker Hop!

Welcome to our hop in combination with the Clearsnap designers! If you got here from the Rose’s blog then you’re in the right place, but no worries if you just happened along, I’ll have the hop list for you at the end of this post!

generously sent the CardMaker team an assortment of ColorBox Chalk inks. I already own quite a few of the colors, so getting some new colors was a real treat!! I love the coverage the pads give!

I tried something a little different with my first sample.

I took Splash and Chambray direct to paper for my background, giving a water effect for my flamingos stamped in Cheeky and Splash. The sentiment was stamped in Cheeky and Plumeria using a stamp positioner.
I stamped another flamingo, die cut and sponged the edges.
My base piece is just white cardstock with only the edges colored by taking the Cheeky pad DTP (direct to paper) then attached to a top-fold base card.

Here is another using a silhouette image inked in Chambray, sentiment in Lipstick Red, and the stenciled die in Yellow Ochre. The red base layer was done the same as above, edges only.

Reverse Confetti and CardMaker Hop!

Welcome to the Reverse Confetti and CardMaker hop!

What fun! The CardMaker team was given a Reverse Confetti store credit and allowed to pick anything we wanted! It was difficult but as soon as I saw the Fabulous Flamingos with coordinating Fabulous Flamingo Confetti Cuts, I knew what I was ordering! I have a granddaughter that has been crazy for flamingos since she was a toddler! Perfect for her upcoming birthday!

Here is my first card…

I stamped the body (all stamped on my MISTI) with Clearsnap Cheeky, then did a combo for the beaks of Splash, Plumeria and Cheeky and a little Ranger Jet Black for the eyes and beak edge. The sentiment is stamped (with the help of my MISTI) in Cheeky and Plumeria.

The stamp and coordinating dies make it easy to whip up a card in no time!

For this one, I started by stamping the 4 background birds with Clearsnap Tangerine, then colored over the legs and around the bodies with a Copic to resemble water. I added the clouds with a homemade cloud template and Ranger Tumbled Glass and Broken China.
Then stamped and die cut the main bird, stamping the legs several times to make them darker.

The sentiment is stamped with Clearsnap Plumeria and Chambray.

Fabulous Flamingos Confetti Cuts

Fresh From the Garden…

A while back I had hinted at something coming, something exciting and fun…. WELL, it’s still coming! I was hoping to do it mid July, then it rolled around to the end of August…. THEN… I thought how cool it would be for my Blogaversary….but I think that will roll by without much fanfare also!

But stay tuned…. I do have something coming one of these days that I think many of you will grab at the chance to win! Oops… did I just give a hint?!

And all those tomatoes from the other day? Eleven quarts of yummy spaghetti sauce, seven quarts of plain tomatoes, and nice pot of spaghetti sauce for our dinner last night! Mmmmm good!

Now, on to my card!

The Sketch today on Splitcoast is a fun tri-panel one. I flipped mine vertically to accommodate the image and turned it into an easel card.

I stamped Seed Packet in Distress Bundled Sage and also made a mask (stamping again on a large sticky note) and cut out only the “window” portion. Placing the mask over the image, I then stamped Dahlia in ColorBox Chalk Dark Peony, Rouge and Pink Pastel. The flowers were then colored with Copics. (forgetting that Chalk inks and Copics don’t play nicely together….they didn’t listen to Mr. Rogers, I over-stamped the flowers again in Dark Peony to redefine them)

Lots of distress sponging with Tea Dye and Bundled Sage, embossed edge is embossing border Iron Works.

I also took each panel and scored 1/4 inch around the edges using my Scor-buddy.

The Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 3 and sentiment from the Garden Tag Set is popped up as my stop for the easel.

It’s raining today so that means we can’t pick anything which means I get the day off!! Yippee!!

Watermelons and Sketches

My grandson, Gabriel, grew watermelons in their garden. And, WOW, did he have watermelons! They're so sweet...mmmmm!

Our garden is winding down but by no means done! I'm busy still doing tomatoes and apples!

Here are a couple cards I did this week for a challenge on Splitcoast, same sketch but totally different looking results!

Our Daily Bread designs Brocade Borders cut with the new Brocade Borders die, Peace and Brocade Background stamped with Clearsnap chalk ink, Prussian Blue.

And this one, from Innovative Stamp Creations, Sketch of Roses II. I stamped the rose onto the Kraft Fair Isle cut piece, colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with OMS, then cut squares with my Spellbinders to spotlight it. I also stamped the background from the set on the die cut piece and the one layer which are both sponged with Distress inks.

Hope your day is wonderful where ever you are... it's beginning to feel like Fall here, a nice "crispness" to the air! Ahhh, love it!

Country Charm

Remember I said I got new rubbah!!

Here's a 5x5 card done with Primitive Beginnings from The Rummage Bin at Cornish Heritage Farms.

I started off by making a mask of the house - stamping on a post it note so the bottom of the house was on the edge of the sticky part, and cut it out.

Since I already had a layout in mind, (CPS#50) I stamped the house high on the right, masked it and stamped the rolling hills and trees....then peeled off the mask and voila!, my house looks like it's in this peaceful country setting!

The front looks so different from the start of the card! I should have taken a picture so you could see the transformation! It's totally white cardstock, sponged with distress inks. The oval is a light creamy yellow sponged with dried marigold and faded jeans is sponged on the sentiment....which leads me to the sheep!

Mr Sheep kinda got in the way of the dauber whilst sponging, so I stamped him again, cut him out and popped him on a dimentional. Since he was already stamped on the sign I only had to cut out his body, leaving those tiny little legs behind *wink*. The sentiment is also popped on foam mounting tape.

I stamped 3 sheep on my card and 3 more on a scrap, cut out their bodies and placed them on adhesive dots (2 paper thin ones together so they're just barely raised off the paper)...again leaving their little legs behind.

Oh yeah, and I doodled around the oval too and stamped part of another sentiment, inking only the flourish part. And I did my faux layering again using a copic marker.
