A Fun Technique

Yesterday's technique challenge on SCS was this really *difficult* looking, fun Tri Shutter card. Notice I said difficult looking, because it's actully super easy and you can make it as involved as you want or keep it simple........and it still looks like you spent HOURS on it! You will amaze your friends...lol

I had so much fun making 2 yesterday, that I did the color challenge today and also did High Hope's doodle challenge!

It's all colored with Copics, doodled, and the foliage carefully cut with scissors.

The next 2 are the ones I did yesterday, new releases from Artful Inkables

Music a la Carte and Rodeo Rodent

The papers from DCWV and K&Company were just perfect

Hope you give this a try, you'll so glad you did!
Now... the sun and gorgeous weather are calling to me, so I think I'm going to head outside!!

Enjoy your day....and as always, thanks for stopping!

Let's Go Bananas!

High Hopes Rubber Stamps is a real favorite of mine, so that's what I chose for today's Sketch Challenge on SCS. It's also for this week's High Hopes blog challenge, to make a "guy" card. I think monkeys fit for that category! LOL!!

I started by stamping and masking the big monkey then airbrushed the background and stamped the trees. It's all colored with Copic markers, even the black layer... fauxed with black Copic (I'm running out of black cardstock!)

Now, if you look at the sketch, you'll see a verticle strip, normally I'm a stickler for following the sketch to a "T"!...but this time I just thought this monkey on the vine would look so cute...it's verticle and thin like the strip...................worked for me *wink*!

Then there was the #4 layer...what to put there? The leaves and bananas worked perfectly! Lots of layers and cutting, but I think it turned out really cute so it was worth the extra effort.

Recipe:

Stamps: High Hopes
Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black by Ranger
Paper: Georgia Pacific white, Prism Spring Willow dk
Other stuff: Copic markers, Copic ABS, Spellbinders Nestabilities, Cuttlebug/embossing folder, foam dimensionals, scissors, craft knife

Thanks for stopping!

Jungle Book Topper and ABS

The Inspiration Challenges on SCS are always so interesting! You just never know where the inspiration will lead you! Today was a super duper one...from cakes! Yes, cakes...but not just any ordinary cake! These are works of art!! Take a look here.

This is the cake I chose to use, Jungle Book and I'm going to show you how I put it together.

I just love High Hopes Rubber Stamps, Crissy is such a talented artist! I started by watercoloring the images with reinkers and waterbrush, cutting them out and setting them aside.

Next, I used my Copic Airbrush System to lay down a subtle background color, stamped and watercolored the images.

Then I put the images all over, moving them around till I was happy with the layout, cutting leaves apart and opening up the elephant.

Next came the dimensionals (2 thicknesses), tape and glue. I fanned out the elephant's ears by holding them between my thumb and pointer finger and dragging my thumbnail along the ear.

As in the cake photo, I topped my card with the snake on Spellbinder's Labels 2.

Fun right?! Hope you have a terrific Saturday! It's chilly but the sun is shining brightly here.

recipe:
High Hopes Rubber Stamps
Paper: Georgia Pacific white, Prism Iced Yellow, Suede Brown dark
Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black, reinkers
Other: Waterbrush, Copic Markers, Copic Airbrush System, Dimensionals, Scissors, Craft Knife, Spellbinder's Labels 2

Several Fun Projects

It's a rainy, gloomy day here today...but we need the rain, so I'll smile through it!

The knitted kool-aid dyed set is done! Just waiting for my "model" to come up for the photo shoot *wink* ....So keep checking in.

Just thought I'd share a couple projects I've done in the last 2 days.

This is a box from the Technique Lover's Challenge on SCS and the Color Challenge! (such yummy colors!)

I watercolored the images from Cornish Heritage Farms with reinkers, then sponged the background with Distress inks.

I love how it turned out!!

Stamps used were Bird Sampler, Large Daisy Patch, Delight Yourself and Scratched Grid Backgrounder.

This one is the Sketch Challenge for today, flipped.
This one is also watercolored...but, I used watercolor pencils.
I tend to forget about my pencils and crayons until someone else uses them and jogs my mind! (yes, I do still have one... some days it's just hard to find!! LOL)

These images are from High Hopes Rubber Stamps.
