Our Daily Bread designs November Release Hop!

JoytotheWorld Candle closeup frosted Are we ready to start this hop?! I sure am, because I'm so excited about these new sets from Our Daily Bread designs.

If you just happened on my blog you're in luck because I'm starting this hop!  But you really need to start at the ODBD Blog, where you can see the entire release and the blog hop order.

This is a special hop...there are secret words hidden along the way which you need to collect along with the name of each Designer.  Then you will return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment that you have visited all the blogs and a special email address will be given to you so you can then email Grace with the secret words you found in the correct orderThat's all you have to do for the chance to win the ENTIRE NEW RELEASE this month!  That's three GREAT new sets that will help you with all your card and gift making needs just in time for Christmas!!!

Here are my projects I'm sharing with you today. One very simple and the other, though simple, a little more involved.
Joy to the World Candle
All I did was make a band to fit around the candle. Using Versamark, I stamped the sentiment from the set, Luke 2:11 and heat embossed it with Fine Detail Gold EP by Ranger. I used Spellbinder's Labels 4 and while the cardstock was still in the die, I sponged on Peeled Paint Distress Ink by Ranger. While it was still in the die, I stamped the poinsettia from the same set with Clearsnap Fluid Chalk Olive Pastel.
Here's a tip for your candles if they have a nick or in my case, the gold had come off in several places (and not able to cover with the band!). I sprayed Krylon Gold Webbing over the candle! It added a beautiful texture and covered up the imperfections!

Now, for my second one. Stamping on a candle.
Candle blockI'm sure most of you that have been stamping any time at all know the trick of stamping on tissue paper, but for those that might not know this technique I'll explain it.
CandleYou need a piece of tissue paper to fit around your candle and almost as high. Stamp your image...here again I used the poinsettia from Luke 2:11 and the verse from Christmas Verses... stamping in Versamark and heat embossing (carefully) with the Detail Gold EP. Then I colored the poinsettia with Copics and gave the tissue a few spritzs of Pearl Glimmer Mist by Tattered Angels....oh does this ever SHIMMER!! (Kelley sent each of us girls a bottle...way too much fun! Thank YOU Kelley!)

Then all you do is lay your tissue paper around your candle and carefully, with your heat tool, "melt" your tissue right into the candle!

Thanks for stopping by today! And I hope you enjoyed my project and maybe learned something too... all your friends and relatives can get a beautifully decorated candle! *grin*

Now from here you need to go visit Sandee... and before you go... my secret word is "A".

Be sure you are keeping a list of all the DT names so you can write their secret word next to them and email that to Grace at the address given on the ODBD Blog at the end of the hunt!  You have until 8 PM EST on Tues. Nov. 3rd to email her the secret word/words each designer had!  Remember...One LUCKY WINNER will win the entire release!

One More Chance to Win...
Please be sure to check out the ODBD Blog "Latest Challenge" to join our Design Team in this month's Challenge!  The challenge this month is to make a Holiday Card and make it SHIMMER!  There are many ways you can do that... so this is easy enough for all to play along!  You might use Shimmery Designer Paper, Glimmer Mist, Shimmerz, Twinkling H2O's, etc.  Just show us the shimmer so fitting to the Christmas season!

Everyone is invited to play along!  You DO NOT have to use Our Daily Bread designs stamps to win, but if you have them, we LOVE to see them!!!  Link your card to the Latest Challenge Thread on the ODBD Blog by Nov. 15th by 8 PM EST.  There will be a $30.00 Store Credit given to the winner of this challenge!  Let's see your Shimmer!!

Thanks for stopping!
