Ok….I’m in some serious need of some sunshine and warm weather! If I can’t have the real thing… at least I can make a CHEERY card!
This is what it looks like outside right now… and it’s supposed to change to SNOW… yeah… 2-4 inches of it! Not unusual…we have had snow in April, I’m just ready for nice weather!!
So, on Splitcoast today, the Inspiration Challenge is using this site, Damask Love. I was having a hard time finding something that ‘spoke’ to me until I found this post for Paper Flowers! A card was born!
You are getting to see a sneak peek of some of the April goodies coming from Our Daily Bread designs!
That totally gorgeous background die is called, Vintage Flourish Pattern, beneath it is Chalkboard Lattice Background, but wait! There’s more! On top is Flourish Label Borders and…….that is no stamp for the sentiment, that’s some awesome Chalkboard Collection paper! Think I hand cut it? Oh no, think again! It’s one of the dies in the set! Woohoo!
While the paper was still in the Vintage Flourish Pattern die, I sponged with Mustard Seed Distress ink. I also stamped the Flourish Label Border and Chalkboard Lattice Background in the same ink.
For my flowers I used several scalloped circle dies, sponged the edges with the ink and cut almost to the center. I used fringe scissors for the centers, cutting a very thin strip of black and rolling it up, gluing and fanning it out.
For the leaves I used Zinnia and Leaves and Fancy Foliage dies.
I think I need to clean my dies! Oh well!
Here’s wishing you sunshine where ever you might be. It’ll get here eventually!!!
Thanks for stopping!
Dawn
