Time for another Sassy Challenge! This week from Sassy Jeni, it’s coloring on Kraft! I really enjoy this technique, it gives such a different look. Play along using a Sassy Cheryl’s image and you could win a $5 gift certificate! Details are on the blog.
I don’t know about you,
but I need a boatload of grad cards this year!
but I need a boatload of grad cards this year!
This is Little Boy Graduate. He’s colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with Gamsol and blending stumps. I used a Sakura white gel pen on his shoes, eyes and cap. The clouds were done using a homemade template, white and blue ink. You can see how to do them here.
I used Spellbinders Labels 21 (on my Grand Calibur), cutting around the edge of the embossed part on the Kraft, then using the same (largest die) size to cut my card base having the top edge of the die just above the fold so it doesn’t cut, allowing it to open as a top fold.

You're right, it does give the cards a different look by coloring on the Kraft paper. I really do love it! It's kind of a 'vintage' look and it certainly makes the colors POP!
Oh, and can you come to my house and help me paint 'skies'?
Stunning as always, Dawn!
Exceptional coloring -- love your card!

Wow, I'm loving all of the DT samples using this technique! Your coloring of this image is fabulous, Dawn.
I'm with Cheryl, your skies are always awesome! Love the shape of your card too. Fabulous! ~jeni :)
Had to come check out what you were up to. Have not been here in awhile. This is precious. I love this little image. Cheryl does such a great job drawing and then you finish it up with your coloring. Love this.

What a great coloring job! I don't think to color on kraft, but I love the look here. :)

He's just terrific! Love him!
What a cutie? That robe is awesome. Black intimidates me. That Spellbinder Die looks like it was designed specifically for this digi. Have a great weekend Dawn.
Wow, look at that colouring on the clouds!!! And to think we all were apprehensive when we found out what the challenge was!!!
Hugs
