A Challenge...A Thank You...A Grad Card...and Some Jbelle News

gatlinburg ty blk

I needed a thank you card, a graduation card for a party on Saturday, I didn't do the Sketch Challenge yesterday on Splitcoast and I wanted to do Angie's challenge ....soooo, I *ahem* (sorry Mr Eagle) killed 2 birds with one stone so to speak!

First Angie's challenge for the Stamping In Time: On Assignment, ODBD blog.... Create a Scene! SNTODBD11

I wanted a special thank you for Randy, the guy that let us use his cabin in Gatlinburg. It needed to be, well, "MOUNTAINY"!

SC283 SNTODBD11I used the sketch from yesterday. Believe it or not, this was a super quick card to put together! Sponge some clouds, mountains, punch some trees and color the eagle.........and slap it together! I split up the "thank you" by inking it separately and using my stamp positioner.

I highlighted the eagle with my Sakura white gel pen. ACK! Seeing this close-up reminds me I forgot to go around the cut edges with a black marker! It gives a nice "finished" touch!

The black layers are "fauxed" using a ruler and marker. The clouds are my homemade cardboard template, the mountains just a piece of torn copy paper used in the same manner.

*Afterthought*...it would have looked nice with a torn paper river running under the trees....oh well, next time! LOL

stamps: on eagles' wings, friendship- our daily bread designs
paper: gp white, prism
ink: memento tuxedo black, ranger distress pumice stone, walnut stain, brushed corduroy, tumbled glass, stormy sky, weathered wood
other: copics, sponges, martha stewart tree punch, foam mounting tape, sakura white gel pen, sharpie black marker

sc283 blk One of my 4H kids, Levi, is graduating and having his party on Saturday, so I had to make him a special card.

Grandstand2 WLS reszWe had fun doing his senior pics. I took this one when we were at the Fiber Festival last month. Tuesday we took more....now, if I could just get Jared (MY son) to realize we NEED to take some of him!

SC283 For Levi This is Frantic Boy Graduate from Sassy Cheryl's, colored with Copics. The sentiment is from As You Graduate, ODBD. The brads are "faux", punched black cardstock with some white gell pen accents then Ranger Glossy Accents over top!
I thought this paper from
Jacksonbelle Embellishments was perfect!
Speaking of... Lindsey (Jacksonbelle) is having a Going Out of Business SALE! *sniff sniff* Everything is 30% off right now.

HAHAHAHAHAHA....just now looking at this... I should have made his shirt PLAID!!!

stamps: sassy cheryl's digital, our daily bread designs
paper: gp white, black,  jacksonbelle embellishments
other: printer, copics, spiral punch, sakura white gel pen, foam mounting tape, ranger glossy accents.

Hope your day is going well!

Thanks for stopping!

Dawn

Wow! Both cards are fantastic. I really like the way you sponge not only clouds but mountains as well. The punched trees are fantastic as are the details to your eagle. As for your graduation card, I love the touch of whimsy that the image lends.
