Place Them In Their Best Light

TLC266 blk

Treat your friends
as you do your pictures,
and
place them
in their best light.

Today's Technique challenge on Splitcoast is Inside Out, finishing the inside of your card. Something I admire in people who always have a fancy inside, but rarely do! I usually just slap some sentiment in it and be done!

I decided to play with a set I've had for a while but, to be honest, was a little....no, A LOT! intimidated by it. It's Friendship from Innovative Stamp Creations... a beautiful set. I just wasn't sure I could color the face with enough definition! I like how she turned out though, and with practice she can only get better, right?

TLC266 face I stamped on Prism Kraft and colored the entire image with Prismacolor pencils, blended with baby oil. then I went back over most of it with Copics.

The cool thing about coloring over Prismas with Copics is you can still move the color around with your blending stump! Yeah, really! It works! AND... you don't use as much because the ink doesn't soak into the paper...it stays wetter longer on top of baby oil or OMS! Cool, huh!

TLC266 Best Light The butterflies are colored strictly with Copics. That cute little background stamp is part of the same set, I stamped it in Adirondack Willow and Salmon. The sentiment is from another Innovative Stamp Creations set called Nature Silhouettes II

TLC266 Best Light insideNow, I should take the extra few minutes to finish EVERY inside!!

stamp: friendship, nature silhouettes II- innovative stamp creations
ink: memento tuxedo black, versamark, adirondack willow, salmon
paper: prism kraft, intense kiwi, georgia pacific white, sei green at heart
other: prismacolor pencils, baby oil, blending stumps, copics, sakura white gel pen, clear embossing powder, spellbinders square/deckled rectangle, glue dots, martha stewart deep edge punch, foam mounting tape, fine tip artist pen

Remember the pictures of the daffodils in the snow? Well, they've all popped back up and are blooming! Yippee!!!

Thanks for stopping!

Dawn

What a beautiful card!!! Love how you colored her!!! I would have thought the pencils would gunk up the copics - I have used my prismacolor pencils over my copics but haven't tried the copics on top of the pencils.....
