A Challenge? Sure...I'll Do It!

Especially if it's a stamping one! And this one comes from Mo's Digital Challenge. You saw in my Check It Out post that she has a LLAMA!... Well, I'm hooked!

I've loved her stuff from day one...now just to add to my collection!

The challenge is "Just White". The image can be color but everything else is white.

It's called "Girl & Dog". Inside says, Happiness is an unexpected hug.(from Inky Antics) It's colored with Copics and sponged around the edges with whatever distress ink was left on my dauber.

Here's one I did yesterday for the Sketch Challenge on SCS

This one is called "Skating". Again colored with Copics and sponged with Distress ink.

And...another challenge? My good friend Tosh, asked if I could knit up a hat and scarf for a dear friend of hers with cancer. Bonnie lives in a part of the country where it gets snowy and cold, so a set made from llama would be just perfect!

Her favorite colors? Well, Tosh said they are yellow, orange, red... but maybe a red set would be nice.

Here's where the challenge starts!

Did I listen? No! I thought I'd dye my yarn in Bonnie's favorite colors!

Here is how it started... I had to spin the fiber on my wheel and ply it. That odd contraption is called a niddy noddy and makes a 2yd skein or hank of yarn.

Then I had to dye it...I used 3 flavors of Kool Aid and popped it in the oven.

This is called a Swift... it takes the place of someone holding their arms apart, holding the yarn on their hands while I wind it into a ball!

  And the ball of yarn.

Ok, here is how it knitted up. I like how it turned out... BUT... wasn't happy with it as a set that was going to a complete stranger!

So after talking it over with Tosh... she said Bonnie's hubby wanted red... so back to dying!

Absolutely LOVE the finished result!! Cherry, a little Black Cherry and a little Strawberry over-dyed the previous colors!

It's a "tucked" scarf, the ends tuck through that little section.
