Just Some Fun...and a Sneak Peek

Today's sketch challenge over on Splitcoast is such a great one! I had to do 2 cards!! Both so different. Here's the sketch......

And the cards I did......

This one I called Knitting Buddies and will go to a knitting friend that is undergoing radiation treatments. She knits up a storm and is a big help when I have questions...which is often! lol

And, yes, Anne...that is homegrown, homespun llama yarn! It's leftovers from the hat/scarf set.

The frame was done by taking the guard off the corner punch, inserting the rectangle of pattern paper and punching around the perimeter. It's popped up over the image using foam mounting tape...you know, the kind on the roll. I used a craft knife to cut narrow pieces to fit the tiny edges of the frame. *Note* if you cut it while it's still on the roll with the protective paper, your cutting tool doesn't get all sticky!

The cute House Mouse image was colored with Copic markers, the knitting needles have Stardust gel pen on them.

I LOVE how this one turned out. Mona Lisa has this new set coming out next week, Wedding Centers, at Cornish Heritage Farms. It's got all the perfect sentiments for those wedding and shower cards! I thought, though, this would work for an anniversary too.

Fairy Tales...sometimes you're the Princess Wink Pictures, Images and Photos...and you marry the frog or the ogre

Smilie - Laughing 3 Pictures, Images and Photos...I crack myself up!

Oh, yeah...and sometimes you marry the Princess 2 Pictures, Images and PhotosPrince...like I did.;) Pictures, Images and Photos

Alright....BACK to the card!
I used Kim Hughe's, Bloomin' Beautiful with watercolor pencils and a waterbrush, then sponged some distress inks around the edges. Several of the flowers were stamped/colored/cut out and popped up. The Flower panel is actually the card.

Love both cards, Dawn...but especially the House Mouse card with your hand-spun/hand-dyed yarn. Great use of your punch to make the frame! As always, your colouring is amazing. TFS!
