CHF Blog Project

Last month I was asked to do a project for the Cornish Heritage Farms blog that used a featured product. This is what I came up with! It also worked out great as a gift for my daughter-in-law whose birthday is on Christmas and whose children are in the frame! awwww, cute kids!

Project Instructions:

1. Hugs and Kisses Can (the can is from a blueberry muffin mix, using a can opener that lifts the lid rather than cutting)
Measuring the diameter of the can, I stamped the Large Polka Dot backgrounder several times in Clearsnap Fluid Chalk ink, Pink Pastel and cut 2 strips. (one for the outside, one for the inside) The strip for the outside got daubered with Ranger Distress ink, Vintage Photo using a Tsukineko Jumbo Dauber. (I have one for each color family of Ranger inks!)
Each strip was fastened using my ATG applicator.
Using my Spellbinders Nestabilities, I custom cut the scalloped rectangles to fit the sentiment from Kim’s new set, Hugs and Kisses, and the can.
Two mini brads from Queen & Co and ribbon from American Crafts completed the can.

For the lid, I used my Nestabilities again to cut a circle and scalloped circles.
The plain circle was run through the Cuttlebug with the Bubble embossing folder and daubered with Vintage Photo. I used Matte Accents to glue the base circle and tape gun for the scallops.
I stamped the chocolate candy from Kim’s new set, Hugs and Kisses, 3 times, with Versamark and Stazon Timber Brown and one coat of clear ep. Each candy was cut out and is on a dimensional. I formed a bow from ribbon and stitched it in the center. The bow is adhered to the lid with a glue dot.

2. Hugs and Kisses Frame
Found a reduced bin at Joann’s with these wooden frames for 50 cents! I sanded off the painted picture and gave it a coat of Gesso.
Large Polka Dot backgrounder was stamped in Clearsnap Fluid Chalk ink, Rouge.
I used the Jumbo Dauber again around the outer and inner edges with Ranger Distress Vintage Photo.
The sentiment and butterflies were stamped with Versamark and Stazon Timber Brown with a coat of clear ep.
Copic Marker, Rose Red R85, used to color the heart and butterflies. The heart has a coat of Glossy Accents. The sentiment is mounted on Nestabilities of Prism paper, Razzleberry light/medium. Sakura white gel pen used for the dots.
X’s/hearts stamped in Stazon Timber Brown
I used a drop of Matte Accents to attach the butterflies and sentiment.
Ribbon by ? tied around frame.
