RideEmCowboySunABS-WM2

My first sample, Ride ‘Em Cowboy, with a sponged sun from Circles die and air brushed background. I also used Squares, Double Stitched Squares, Pierced Rectangles, Double Stitched Stars dies and Vintage Ephemera Collection.

These are the markers used for the sky.

My second sample shows a different way to use the silhouette stamps using Howdy.

HowdyColoredWM

I started with a sponged sun with the Circles die (negative piece… the ‘hole’) then started my scene.

For this card you’ll need a stamp positioner (I use a MISTI) and some cotton swabs. I applied the ink one color at a time to the image and stamped. It’s really quite easier than it sounds! The grassy part was inked up normally with several shades of green.

I made a mask for the horse/cowboy and sun so I could air brush the sky. My sun was a little too bright for my liking so I added some white acrylic paint “wispy clouds”.

HowdyColored-copics

I added the Saguaro cactus…which didn’t like stamping over the paint (note to self… stamp, mask, then do sky!). The wildflowers were added with a gel pen and fine tip marker. The Pierced Rectangles was used to die cut the scene.

I love the rugged background you made for the first card. On the second card, my favorite parts are the sky and grasses.
