Today my sister sticks and I are taking a look back at the September mid-month release from Our Daily Bread designs!
I used these for my sample today
I took pictures to help explain the process of my stamping, coloring, and out-of-box techniques.
First, I stamped the lily from Beauty in Memento Tuxedo Black (using my MISTI). This ink is great for coloring with alcohol markers. I kept the image in place to color.
After coloring, I went around the edges with a white gel pen to make the flowers more realistic. I wasn’t real careful about scribbling over some of the black ink because the next step fixes that.
The final image is over-stamped with Ranger Jet Black, a strong black that makes the image pop!
Here is how I do “out-of-box”
Using Stitched Ovals, I put the largest one over the image, cutting side up….then lightly marked inside the oval the parts what were going to stick out over the cut line.
I then took my cutting tool and carefully cut just around those edges.
Flipping the die over, I slid it under the cut pieces and ran it through my machine to cut and emboss. Voila! Easy peasy!
Other ODBD used, Butterfly and Bugs, stamped and colored the same as above, Ovals and Butterfly and Bugs die .

Super gorgeous!! Love the vivid pink lilies and great tutorial on the out-of-the-box technique....I forget to do that....very cool!!! HUGS!!
Gorgeous! Your lilies are so beautifully colored, Dawn! Thanks for the Out-of-the-Box tutorial! I always end up cheating on this technique and end up cutting the whole image out and popping it up! LOL!
Your card is gorgeous, Dawn!! I love your use of colors and how the lilies are out of the oval!! Stunning coloring and design. I will have to check out your tutorial to see how you do it...it may be a more efficient or more beautiful way than I do it. Thanks for sharing!
hugs,
Chris
Perfectly colored lilies, Dawn! They almost look real! Just a gorgeous card; love all your embellishments, perfect finishing touch!
What lovely lilies you colored Dawn!! I love the out of the box cutting but easy peasy? Not so much when you have points coming out of all directions, not for me anyway! You must have magic in your hands!
This is so beautiful and I love your border as well! Those colors are so pretty!
So pretty, Dawn and great use of the out of the box technique! Love the pink too! Love the overstamping too!!!
