Vintage and Cork

Our Daily Bread designs, Crocheted Background, Antique Label Designs, and Antique Labels and Border, Words of Faith

Wow! It’s been a while since I’ve actually done some challenges on Splitcoast! Remember back when we redid my kitchen I said next is the living room? Well, the past 2 WEEKS have been spent working on that!! Still need new window treatment, but I think it’s finally done! I might share some pics later. Winking smile

I managed to get FOUR challenges into one card!! The TLC-Show the DP inside, WT-Use Cork, F4A- Flags and Banners, and the QFTD!

I on the outside, I used ODBD Crocheted Background, Antique Label Designs, Words of Faith and Antique Labels and Border die. I stamped the background in Distress Antique Linen, the labels in Adirondack Espresso and sponged with Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass.

So, where’s the cork you ask?!

Right here on the inside! The DP is Bo Bunny Welcome Home sponged with the same inks as the outside. You know stampers… never throw anything away!! I’d saved this old coaster from somewhere knowing I’d use some day!! LOL

I stamped All Occasion Sentiments in Onyx Black and embossed. I wasn’t sure if my Spellbinders Ribbon Banners Lg would cut through the thick cork… had to try! It almost made it too, I just had to use my craft knife to finish the cut! I also shortened the banner a little to accommodate my sentiment. (cut part way, adjust die and finishing cutting from other direction)

I have a very good friend with some health issues right now, I’m popping this in the mail to brighten her day!

I hope I’ve inspired you to try something just a little outside the norm, step out of that box once in a while!

Thanks for stopping!

Dawn

Hi Dawn, Love your card & use of the cork. A tip for you...go to your local Auto parts store and you can buy a roll of gasket cork for a really low price. It is a lot thinner than what you used here and the dies cut through just fine. The only drawback is that it smells funny for awhile, but goes away with time. Hugs Lori
