Happy Birthday to Rick…Blog Hop

ODBD SpecialBoy, The Mighty Sea, Ironworks Borders, Mudd Puddles

I hear some crazy Hungarian, by the name of Frederick,
is turning
54

today!!!

If you got here from Lisa’s awesome blog, then you’re in the right spot! If you just happened here and want to hop along in order, you can go back to the ODBD blog where there’s the entire list.

The hop will run from 8am EST, Jan 9 to 8pm Jan 11.
Leave your comments during that time, there will be one blog that’s ‘hot’ and they will choose one person to receive a $20 gift certificate towards stamps at
Our Daily Bread designs!!!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I’ve had the pleasure…and I use that term lightly!!!, of working with Rick {husband to Kelley}, both at shows and at their home and ODBD shop. I say that because Rick is a ‘kidder’ Shiftyand likes to tease! But I give back about as much as he dishes out!Who me?

Rick is Mr. ODBD (he’ll get me for that one later!!)
At shows he’s the muscle behind getting the carts set up, runs the register and basically makes up techniques as he explains how cards and certain projects are done {a private joke… another one I’ll hear about later!! lol} ! He wears many hats at home with the business as Kelley tries to keep him in line. Winking smile

He’s a good cook too!!

This picture is several years old, from the Cincy show.  He’s MUCH older now!!RickWorking

Rick drives The Beast that pulls their huge trailer to the shows, so I had to use the new set, Special Boy, for this Diorama card! Rick also loves the ocean, so I combined it with The Mighty Sea. For the frame on the front, I used Ironworks Borders, my stamp positioner and only inking one corner and stamping. Then I filled in with the flourish from Brocade Borders, and hand cut the opening.

I used Tropical Beach and Shells by Mudd Puddles for added texture. The scene is colored with Copics, white gel pen, some inks and acrylic paints.

Can you hear the roar of the surf??!

Well, Rick, I hope you’ve enjoyed your Birthday hop thus far! Looking forward to March, when we can harass each other some more!

Happy Birthday!

Now it’s time to see what
Chris has to share on her fabulous
blog!

Thanks for stopping!

Oh my goodness, Dawn, you really outdid yourself using all these wonderful sets to create this FABULOUS CARD for Rick's big day - I don't think he has changed much at all, even if your picture is a couple years ago - and he is such a manly man - I can see him riding this cool truck across the dunes down at the beach - Totally mind blowing creative genius - that's this card!!

Dawn!!! That is just amazing. I love the depth from the diorama - it really makes me feel the truck is driving towards me off that lovely beach. :D - brings back memories of a holiday in Greece when we stopped to help 4 ladies who had driven onto the sand and couldn't get off again. We happened by at just the right time!
