Wow….my last post of the year! Lots of mixed emotions for 2012…. we lost some very dear friends, a favorite llama and with the storm in June…well a lot!
Before I share pics of the ‘new’ house, I want to show you a peek of some new things coming tomorrow from Our Daily Bread designs! This silhouette is called Little Boys, a great set of All Occasion Sentiments and some new dies, Antique Labels and Border!!
The technique on Splitcoast today is Chalkboard, fun!
Basically, you take your embossing buddy over black cardstock, stamp your image etc in embossing ink and emboss in white… then smudge some white ink around to make it look ‘chalky’!
We have a guy friend recovering from a heart attack, masculine cards are always needed but never on hand! LOL! These new sets will certainly help with that!

Now… my ‘new’ house!
I just love the color!
In case you’re reading here for the first time and have no clue what I’m talking about, I’ll give you a quick explanation.
On June 29 we had straight line winds whip through our town damaging quite a bit. We lost a lot of mature OLD trees, our gazebo and hot tub, trampoline, and all 4 sides of our house was damaged! Here is a pic showing some of the damage and the ‘old’ house.
You can see more pics here
remember, if you right click on a picture you can bring it up larger in another window
With some of the old trees destroyed from the storm and others capable of causing damage should another storm pass through, the county offered to cut them down… a sad day for sure! And now my house is so visible!!
It took a loooong time for the guys to finally finish…
None of the shutters were damaged, so we couldn’t replace them, but I love the color combo!!!
What looks like little smears on the siding are snowflakes how my camera caught them!
The gaping hole where my trees used to be
But… when one door closes another opens. Our beautiful trees are now providing us with beautiful heat in the wood furnace!
Next for 2013… the living room gets a new look!
Thanks for stopping by
throughout the year.
I hope I’ve inspired, encouraged,
and entertained you!
Happy New Year!!!
Dawn

Oh Dawn, I love the new color of your house. It must be wonderful to live in such an open area. Looks like a movie set from the Hallmark Channel. I hope 2013 is a stupendous year for you and yours!
Yes, the color is just right. What a great start for the new year.
Love the new color on the house. It is a beautiful home.
You sure have had a year! The house looks great! I know you hated losing the trees, but certainly understand why they had to go-glad they are keeping you toasty this winter :-)
