Two weeks ago, with the help of a friend, I started renovating my kitchen. Wallpaper from 20-some years ago…gone! Kitchen cabinets, most of them handmade by the previous owner in the 50’s… sanded, primed, painted and almost ready for the final touches! Ceiling and walls painted…ah, a fresh coat of paint can do wonders!
Anyhoo…I’ll post pics of before and after when we’re all done…..hopefully in another week or so!!
So, I got some new toys and was just itching to tear into them and make something!!! OMGoodness, what fun!
First off… this is another peek at a set coming June 1 from Our Daily Bread designs, Thank You. I stamped the basket in Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossed before coloring with Copics and cutting out by hand.
Then I put together my scene using some of my new Memory Box dies! (some…um, like 27! I can’t wait to try them all!! they’re awesome! available from ODBD at shows)
I used Puffy Clouds, Tulip Petals, Picket Fence, Grassland Border and Nestled Bird. I used the negative piece of the grass too {the piece left after cutting grass!} The tulips and bird are colored with Copics, grass with Distress inks DTP.
Thank You fit perfectly on the largest cloud!
A start anyway to thank my friend for all her hard work helping me!!
I hope I’ve inspired you to try something new today… even if it’s demolishing a room in your house!!
Thanks for stopping!
Dawn

Hi Dawn, A work of art!
this is such a fantastic scene.. so glad that you got to play in the war zone.
MB dies are so delicate and fun to play with..love that you used the negative side of the grass, I have done that too, it's just as pretty.
Of course you know scenes are my fave to do.. love the clouds and your coloring the bird, and great odbd image.. makes me want to go on a picinic!
hugs to ya

wow, this is awesome Dawn.
Fabulous card, and love how you used the MBox dies. I'm doing my best to collect as many as I can. I haven't found the picket fence yet, but love the bird. THese dies cut better for me than any I've used..and I've got several brands. MB is my fav. Thanks for sharing your lovely card, can't wait to see your new kitchen make-over. Have a great Memorial Day.
I completely feel your pain, Dawn! DH painted my craft room and put up wall shelves. I felt completely out of touch for those few days.
This little card is super adorable. Love the dimension in the scene you've created!
