Now THIS I Could Handle!

HappyRetirementWindow blk

Picture this… palm trees, the surf hitting the sand not far from where your hammock is gently swaying in the breeze while you're enjoying a little nap…

Oh yeah…. I could go there!! Instead I’ll be heading to Akron for the Adventures In Stamping Convention working the Our Daily Bread designs booth! Come see me if you’re in the area!!

So, I’ll just have to go to that ‘other’ place
in my mind and on paper!!

This is a sneak peek at a new set coming May 1 from ODBDHappy Retirement.

See what I mean?! Ahhhh

This is a super quick one to color up, add a few sponged clouds and you’re done! I framed it with Spellbinders ODBD Custom Window die and added shells from Nautical Frame and Accents, sponging the shells with distress ink while still in the dies.

I wanted to use just one piece of DP from Basic Grey Little Black Dress to die cut the window, emboss the ‘wall’ and put the window back in the ‘hole’

One thing I didn’t think about was the Distressed Stripes embossing folder shrinking my paper  just a tad, similar to a crimper! When I put my window back in I had space around the side edges!!! GASP!

Easily fixed… I traced around the die and inside of the window and cut my frame by hand! I colored the edges with a Copic to match my beach scene and voila… fixed!

A few shells and a sailor’s knot from twine finished it off nicely I thought!

Thunderstorms, dark and grey here today… that beach is looking more and more inviting!!!

Thanks for stopping
and
don’t forget to come see me in Akron!!

Wow...I can almost hear the surf through the window of your card. TFS!

This is so beautiful! Those little shells are so sweet. And yup, it makes me want to be sipping fruity drinks on a sunny beach. Akron sounds like it will be fabulous fun too, though. Happy Thursday!

Absolutely gorgeous Dawn! I want to go there too! I would settle for going to Ohio at this point to see all you lovely people, but that won't be happening either. Have a safe trip.

Just giving me the warm and fuzzies. My fave is the first one with the golden undertones and the perfectly stamped cane background...love the image tucked in the scalloped circle!
