A Cherished Butterfly and a Sunflower

SC Butterfly blk

Today I'm combining 2 challenges,
the Technique, Plaid Silhouettes
that was done on Monday and the
Sketch
on Splitcoast. You can see a tutorial for the technique ----> here.
Thanks Joan!

I stepped up Joan's technique a bit since this wasn’t a “solid” image.

I used Innovative Stamp Creations Beautiful Butterflies III and Wonders of Nature, and used 2 colors of Ranger Distress Inks for the first stamping, then using black (same technique), over-stamped using my SAMJ (stamp positioner). But I wanted the butterfly to be all colored in .... so, next I did Emboss Resist ... stamping it in Versamark (SAMJ again), sprinkling with clear ep, heat setting and sponging with the same Distress inks as I did the plaid plus Barn Door. (I gave it good wipe with a paper towel to remove any ink residue left on the embossing)

I LOVE how the butterfly turned out!
Plus it was so quick and simple
with fab results!!
Always a PLUS! LOL

I stamped one of the smaller butterflies from the same set along the bottom of the envelope and sponged with the same inks (what was left in my daubers) and lined it too.

Stamps: Innovative Stamp Creations

Paper: GP White, DCWV Café Mediterranean, unknown from Hollos

Ink: Tuxedo Black, Versamark, Distress Rusty Hinge, Barn Door, Tumbled Glass,

Other: Sizzix Embossing Folder, clear ep, word window punch, basic grey brads, foam dimensionals

SC292 closupHad to do another card for this sketch since it was so fun! Added since this post went live, so if you're returning and wondering how you missed this the first time... it wasn't here! LOL

Our Daily Bread designs Happy Fall and lots of texture with Cuttlebug Chic Circle Frame and Sizzix embossing folders. I stamped the sunflower 3x so I could have lots of layers...and I cut the flower out with deckle scissors!

SC292 Lotsa Texture

Give it a try, it's fun!

Thanks for stopping!
