It's been some time since I've really taken the time to do an intricate card...mostly it's stamp it, color it and slap it together! Maybe add a ribbon or some bling! HAHA
I decided it was high time I reeeally played with this set, Mom, from Our Daily Bread designs, being released Thursday... so I did Paper Tole!
It took a while... not so much all the cutting, but because I used Scrap Dots by Helmar which needs sufficient drying time. **edited** some people have asked if Scrap Dots has an odor or if the tip gets clogged. It has a very slight odor...I had to actually go and get the tube to smell it....so, obviously it didn't make a smelly impression on me while making the card! LOL! Also, does the tip clog up? No, it's free flowing all the time! Scrap Dots comes in a tube, squeezes out like thick snot after a bad cold (eewwww, sorry...LOL, but I thought it was a good comparison) and dries stiff! Once it's dry, those leaves and petals aren't going anywhere! You can make your "dot" as tall or as small as you want.
I stamped the floral image 3 times, colored certain flowers and leaves and cut them out....and set them aside while I assembled the base.
This is the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I stamped 2 borders from Vine Borders on Basic Grey Green at Heart, and carefully cut them out. *The striped panel was elongated by using my stamp postitioner and stamping it twice, then I drew in the straight line with a fine tip artist pen. I also cut the panel in half, vertically, to widen it and make it fit the sketch! I also colored in the leaves with a Copic and the flowers with a gel pen.
*The green panel is colored with a Copic marker and cut in half horizontally to stretch it out to fit the sketch.
Since the striped paper has what looks like stitching, I faux stitched the base and corners of the quote. Zva bling is on each corner of the green panel.
Don't miss our blog hop Thursday! The girls have been making some awesome samples to share with you!!
thanks for stopping!

Wow - this is stunning!
One of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen. Very tasteful indeed! great job!
Fantastic dimension. I like using that silicone glue for paper tole (sounds like the same, from your delightful description) for the better dimension you can get, but the smell puts me off - that and the drying time. Both your flowers and your base are so beautiful - TFS.
Wow! This is over the top jaw dropping GORGEOUS, Dawn! All that work, all those fabulous details! Awesome!
Dawn, Love the card! Can you buy the Scrap Dots locally? Pam in Cincinnati.

Wow! The base alone was absolutely beautiful. When you added everything else to it!! STUNNING!!!! It is just gorgeous!!! I understand how you made this--by your description--but is tole the technique, or the gluey stuff...? (I am NOT going to use that word...thank you so much!) LOL Dawn, you always make me laugh.
