A Sketch and New Design Team!

Woopwoop! Judi from Angels Landing PM’d me Monday and asked if I could fill in on her Fall DT due to one of her girls having to step down because of health issues. Here’s wishing you back to good health Donna!

Angels Landing is all digital images…really cute stuff!
Be sure to check them out.

So here I am, jumping in with both feet on their
sketch challenge.

Angels Landing closeup This is from Autumn Tweetings, Acorn Birdhouse.

After sizing and printing out the image, I colored it with Copics. I gave some thought to making a mask for it so I could do the background, but opted for my Versamarker and clear embossing powder. The background is sponged with distress inks while still in the Spellbinders nestie…then used sticky notes to mask the center portion and sponged the edges!

Autumn Blessings Sketch Before I tell you about that cute faux button…I’m going to tell on myself.

I’m still getting used to sizing and playing with digitals, so it took me several tries to get my sentiment strip just right! I always say there are no mistakes in stamping… (unless it’s reeeeally bad! lol), but usually you can add another layer, a brad, sponge it heavily… SOMETHING to fix it!

Well, I used my experiment for the card base. (does anyone else do this? just make card fronts and attach to cheap white cardstock!) Ok, so here’s the inside of the card…lol…it also has the same on the backside, just a tad larger.
(did you know you can click on the picture to see it larger?! what’ll they think of next!!)

Angels Landing inside Had I known it was going to work so well, I would have made it go the entire width! That’s your designer tip of the day! LOL!

Angels Landing closeup2As you can see, I got the strip worked out! It’s printed on regular ol’ white georgia pacific then I airbrushed it!
I used this week’s TLC from Splitcoast,
5-Layer Buttons, the two discs under the button are from the Creative Imaginations DP with several coats of UTEE (ultra thick embossing powder).

Hey, Thanks for stopping! Enjoy your day!

Dawn

Dawn, thank you so much for all your efforts to get totally caught up with the rest of the design team -- and in record time, too. I'm delighted to have you join us this fall.

You did some marvelous coloring on this image, and that variegated sponged background looks awesome. Beautiful job. Looking forward to working more with you over the coming months.
