Cards of Encouragement

We have 2 friends that are battling some serious health issues. One, has a rare form of skin cancer…so rare that there are only 600 cases in the entire world! The other has had heart surgery, a collapsed lung and is very depressed. Both are Believers and trusting in God to meet their needs. My heart goes out to them as well as my prayers!

Our Daily Bread Designs has the perfect images and scriptures just when I need them…now if I only had the $$ to purchase each and every set!!

Today I chose On Eagles’ Wings. Paul's card I masked the outer edge using a Spellbinders die, and airbrushed it. Then I stamped and colored the eagle and trees. Notice the eagle is outside the masking while I used the mask again when I stamped the trees.

It’s all colored with Copic markers. The tree is from Stampscapes.

Today’s Color Challenge on SCS was to use only white cardstock and make a one layer card. For both of my cards I’ll put an insert of thin writing paper. Since I used Georgia Pacific cs, the Copics bleed through so the insert will cover it and be a nice touch!

Vernons cardWhen we were in Alaska a few years back, we saw so many eagles! It’s such a neat experience to see them soaring like this above the treetops. I tried to recreate that here.

This card is 6.25x4.25. Again I stamped the eagle and trees, coloring with Copics…then I only masked the eagle before airbrushing the sky.

*tip…to give depth to your “forest”, stamp the tree then stamp again. it will give a lighter image and the sense of trees in the distance. on this card I didn’t even color the second set of trees (the first card I used a lighter marker)

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Think of someone you might know that needs a little word of cheer…send them a card or give them a call…say a prayer for them. Brighten someone’s day!

As always…thanks for stopping!

Dawn

You did an amazing job of recreating the eagles in Alaska. We were there a year ago and this is a perfect memory.
