Chicks In The Adirondacks

No, it's not a group vacation (oh wouldn't that be FUN!!)... it's Adirondack ink! And there's a sale too, September 5-18!!

It will be interesting to see all the ideas using this ink, so be sure to check out the other chicks...I'll link them later *wink*
Here's mine....I said I'd do watercolor.
I just stared playing and this is what happened!

I started by stamping the house from Primitive Christmas on Natural Smooth Prism cs with Versamark and Adirondack Pitch Black, embossed with clear embossing powder, then watercolored it with Adirondack Pesto reinker.

I really like how my sky turned out...here's how I did it.

I lightly watercolored a base color around the house with Adirondack Denim, Sail Boat Blue and Stream.
Then taking my waterbrush, I dripped water along an imaginary horizontal line just above the rooftop and dropped Sail Boat Blue into the puddles. I let this run wherever it wanted, pulling a little bit down with my waterbrush toward the 'ground line'. Then I did the same at the top with Denim.
When I had the colors to my liking, I blotted my piece on copypaper then set it aside to dry. (I did help it a bit with my heat gun...no patience!!)

Since it's a 'night scene', I cut out the windows and smooshed some Lemonade ink on cardstock and stuck it behind the windows. Masking the house, I stamped Starry Night and the 'Snow' dots from Primitive Christmas using my Pearl Paint Dabber.

Let the tearing begin! I tore up lots of scrap pieces for my 'snow drifts, curling the torn edges and attaching them to my scene. I applied Liquid Applique, Puff Paint...or whatever you want to call it and heated it gently with my heat gun to puff it. I added some Crystal Stickles to the snow, Stardust gel pen to the windows and set it aside to dry.

For the sign, I stamped Wood Grain backgrounder in Latte and Mushroom, then took the Latte pad and drug it across the cardstock here and there.
I stamped the sign from
Winter Signage in Pitch Black, then using Versamark and Pitch Black, stamped the sentiment and embossed with clear ep... added Puff Paint and Stickles and attached it with dimensionals to my scene.

I thought the warm, tweedy look from the Scrapblock Paper Pack was the perfect layer.

Hope you had as much fun looking and reading this as I did creating it for you!

Now, let's see what the other girls did!!
