Loved Jeanne and Sherry's JBWW this week...
Distressing!
Here's my sample, unfortunately the colors just aren't true in the photo. The green ribbon isn't that bright! Oh well....
I started out by stamping the Long Stemmed Rose on a Tag , both from Rubbernecker with Ranger distress black soot, then embossed with clear ep.
The rose is colored with copics.
Taking my jumbo dauber and working in a circular motion, I sponged on Ranger distress inks: scattered straw, shabby shutters, black soot and worn lipstick. I just love these inks! You can emboss with them as they stay wet long enough and I just love sponging them!!
Inking up just parts of How Do I Love Thee with black soot, I stamped it several times across the tag.
I tried Sherry's idea of spritzing with water which was cool because it made the black ink run a bit.
Distressing the edges with my "distress tool", one of those thread cutter discs used for needlework etc., and once again sponged more distress ink around the edges...this time walnut stain.
The photo probably doesn't show the shimmer from the spritz of Shimmer Spray made from mixing about one dropper full of Ranger distress ink (dried marigold) and about a 1/4 teaspoon of Perfect Pearls (copper) to an ounce of water in a small spray bottle.
Pearl Ex will not work for the Shimmer Spray - it won’t stick. Perfect Pearls has a binder in it that reacts to the water and makes it work.
Some ribbon fried with the heat tool finished off the tag.
