Unique Brads

This was Julia's Ways to Use It challenge on SCS...not just any brads, they had to be unique. Wouldn't you know I didn't have any in my stashPhoto Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket so I had to make a 'faux' one!

I punched 5 circles from the Deja View dp and glued them together. I attached a teeny piece of double sided tape to the back and stuck it on the end of a pencil...this gave me something to hold on to when I applied the Matte Accents by Ranger. Before it was totally dry I pressed it into the Tulle backgrounder from CHF.

I colored Thomas Kinkade's Skater's Pond from CHF with copics and prismas. I used a Sakura white gel pen and Stardust gel pen for the snow and accents. Wish you could see the sparkle! The tree lights are Marvy embossable markers with clear ep. I used a Zig embossing pen for the pond and a layer of clear ep. Distressed the edges and sponged Ranger Distress inks: old paper, vintage photo, walnut stain.

Now, don't tell my husband that I used my sewing machine Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket(he surprised me 30 yrs ago, paid $700 for it and just wouldn't understand!!)...I did find out most of my zigzag's and cams don't work like they're suppose to!! fiddle...

Cammie, on SCS makes these easel cards and I've wanted to try one for a long time! The Spellbinders ovals are attached to the separate front and back.

This is AMAZING! Stunning doesn't even begin to describe this card, Dawn. I love everything about it, from the faux brads, to the superb colouring, to the layout.

Dawn, I already commented on your gallery of this card...but I just had to comment here as well. YOur coloring on this is fantastic. I need to have a personal consult with you on how you accomplished the white color for the snow. Prisma???
