Jacksonbelle Tuesday...getting Krafty

Apr27 blk

Our challenge today is to use get "Krafty" and use Kraft cardstock. Keyword JBE103

Be sure to stop by the store and see what Lindsey has on sale!!

I have 2 cards to share today...
I didn't start out to make 2...
but...

My first card is a sneak peek at a new set from Our Daily Bread designs, For the Graduate, being released May 1st! I had the card ALL done, then read what our challenge was!!! DUH... use KRAFT!

All I had in mind was the product feature this week,
October Afternoon cardstock!!

So, I cut my card down and put it on a base of Kraft!

Apr27 For the Grad It's colored with Copics, with airbrushing for the sky. I added some white gel pen flowers and used Marvy wet markers and clear embossing powder for the flowers.Apr27 closeup pen1

Now............this is where it gets fun! Our power had blipped off for a brief second this afternoon. I didn't think too much about it since it came right back on. A little while later I got a *reminder* email from Heather saying she needed my card for tomorrow's post since I was one of the featured designers. *GASP* I forgot!! No problem, I could just send her the one I had done...

BLIP!

The power went
.................off!................
and stayed OFF!!

Isn't it nice that you can still stamp without power?! (provided you have enough light...thankfully the sun came out!)

Since I hadn't really done much with Kraft, I started another card. Hoping the power would come back on before blogs had to go live! LOL!

Apr27 blog blk I love coloring with Prismacolor pencils on Kraft! So, that's exactly what I did!

Sassy Cheryl's #9....Lots of White!

Apr27 blk

Judy issued us the challenge...the ONLY color was to be on our image, the rest had to be white.

I chose this new release, Tug of War with Spot.

Apr27 Good Friends Is this cute or what!! What kid hasn't played tug of war with the dog!

It's colored with Copics, masked and airbrushed while still in the Spellbinders die. I learned something at my certification....you can airbrush with BOTH tips of the marker! Two different results!! The lower portion was done with the chisel tip, the upper with the brush! Cool huh!

Apr27 closeupI added a little white gel pen for accents, ran my layers through the Cuttlebug with a couple different embossing folders and my card was done! The sentiment is unknown.

Li'l Abner

When our oldest son was in 6th grade, the music teacher did the musical Li'l Abner and Caleb played the part of Marryin' Sam... fast forward 18 years and our youngest son, Jared, a senior, played Marryin' Sam in the high school musical!

I put together this fun slideshow...mostly of Jared, but  a lot of the cast members too. Enjoy!

Sketchy Mudd Puddles

SC277blk1

First I want to apologize for that huge blog hop post! How it ended up 3 times is beyond me! Grrrrrr, in edit it all looked normal...just ONE! Sorry!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

So, for today, I did the sketch on Splitcoast (yea, Granny Rox is back in the saddle!), and I used some Mudd Puddles I hadn't played with yet. To me it looked like pavement, something a toolbox would look good on!

SC277 Powerful and Effective Happy Father's Day from Our Daily Bread designs is colored with Copics... HEY GUESS WHAT!! I'm finally getting Certified!! Yup, Friday I'm meeting up with my old friend Lori Craig for the class! Whoop!!
Ok...back to the card... then I smeared Versamark over it, sprinkled it with clear embossing powder and heat set it. Intensifies the color and makes it easy cutting! *wink*
SC277 toolboxI wanted to show you how pliable the Mudd Puddles is even though it's rock hard when it dries. Here's the strip before I put it on the card.

SC277 MP pliableI had it bent more, but needed more hands to keep it from sproinging back!!! LOL

SC277 closeup1This particular one is called Midnight Bay. Cool, huh!

Probably going to be pretty quiet here for a couple of days... but be on the look out for Musical pics... Li'l Abner this weekend! Jared is Marryin' Sam! And traveling to Indy for the Copic Certifcation!!

Hope you're having a
wonderful day
where ever you might be!!

Thanks for stopping!

Sassy Cheryl's Challenge #8...a Sketch

Apr20 blk Today we have a sketch challenge thanks to Judy!

I chose to use this new release, Cross-eyed Butterfly, she's so cute!

Apr20 Hi For something different, I thought I'd spotlight her too. She's colored with Copics. I also haven't used my marble texture cube by Stampendous in a gazillion years (serious!)..so I added that too using Colorbox Chalk inks. Then just on her layer, I sponged some clouds with Broken China distress ink. She's layered on Basic Grey lily kate, punched with Martha's loops and the chipboard buttons are by Color Bok. The sentiment is by Penny Black.

Apr20 closeup

The butterfly and trail have Sakura glitter gel pen on them. Fun!

CSS Blog Hop...BBQ Recipes! YUM!

Eternal Summer blk

It's time for another CSS Blog hop!

Several members of the CenterStage Spotlight Alumni team have gathered some of their favorite BBQ Picnic recipes together for us to make another cookbook!  The cookbook will be available for FREE over on the StampTV Freebie page for you to download and print at your leisure.
But, since we are paper crafters - we challenged them even further to make a project with their recipe in mind to share with us tonight on their blogs!  (The projects are also included in photos on the recipe booklet as well.)
Please check out the links of all the participating designers and then download the Recipe booklet and let us know how you like them!

Are you drooling yet? I know I am just reading each one!!

Eternal Summer Salad

Eternal Summer cardI used Happy Camper, colored with Copics, and masked the sign to airbrush the clouds.

Eternal Summer fire For the fire I added some Stickles and the marshmallows have puff paint. They're both popped up on dimensionals and layered on DCWV's Summer Stack.

Hope you enjoy the hop and the recipes too!

Sunshine, 70's, slight breeze! It's GORGEOUS!! Ahhh Spring!

Just thought I'd share a few pictures of my yard.

PeachTree It's going to be a good fruit year! The peach tree is loaded with blossoms!! Yum!! The transparent apple tree in the background is too! That tree is ancient, is huge and produces like crazy!

PeachBlossom The bees were just busy buzzing around, but they didn't hold still long enough to get a shot!

PearMmmm, Bartlett pears!

Oh, To Go There!

SC276 isc_edited-2

I do miss the beach, just to walk in the surf, hear the waves crashing, the gulls...ahhhh. For now, I'll have to settle for pictures!

I have 2 cards to share today for the Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast. I got to sit in for the regular hostess as she headed up to be with her daughter and the birth of her first grandbaby!! Congratulations Rox!!

SC276 g

I used Picturesque, by Innovative Stamp Creations, and watercolored it with reinkers (I heat embossed it first with Distress Black Soot ink and clear embossing powder).

SC276 Escape You can see I flipped the sketch for this one. It's layered on DCWV's Travel Stack.

SC276 mp rtI added a little Hawaii Beach Mudd Puddles. (I'm trying to talk Dave into coming to Stampaway in August in Cincy! So all of you in the area that want to see this stuff, could!)

SC276 waterI added some white gel pen to the waves and a little to the sea grass too =)

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

SC276 blk Then for my second card, I used two sets from Our Daily Bread designs, Mom and Scripture Collection 4.

SC276 My WordsYou can see I left off the optional doodad. The flowers are watercolored with reinkers, then I used my craft knife to cut away the top portion for the "out of the box" look.

SC276 gm I gave it a good dose of Glimmer Mist Honey Dew. It's all layered on Basic Grey Kioshi. I liked the Martha Stewart Loops punch, but it needed just a little something extra...so I put the piece of Anna Griffin ribbon across, tucked it behind and used a piece of gold embroidery floss to scrunch the ribbon in two places!

Hope your mid-week is going great!!

Keyword JBE101

I chose to use this darling Bernadette, from Stampavie, the product feature this week. She's thinking about what new plants she's going to add to her garden with her tax refund.

Apr13 Bernadette That fun paper is Cosmo Cricket, Garden Variety.

She's colored with Copics.

SC's Challenge #7 and New Release!

Apr13 blk

Last week if you remember, our Sassy Cheryl's challenge was to use one of the Sassy Girl images. Today, it's the Boy's turn along with blue and cream. I'm using a new image, Patriots Remembered Boy.

Apr13 Flag It's colored with Copics, sponged with Old Paper distress ink. I used Spellbinders Labels 11, cut off the bottom edge for each piece and cut the blue layer in half to stretch it out and fit the image layer.

The fun patriotic paper is from DCWV's Summer Stack.
