#18 Show Me Thursday….For Real?

Ok, so I’ve never participated in
Cheryl’s “Show Me” Thursday before.

Here’s an excerpt from her blog that explains…

“Okay, so what are you working on this week?  Can't wait to see.  And for you newbies, NO, it doesn't have to be a Sassy image, it can be WHATEVER you just happen to be working on.  Perhaps you’re baking or organizing. Whatever it is, we'd all love to see. . . .and so would all of these fun, snoopy ladies.  And believe you, me, they are nosey. “

Cheryl and I were in contact quite a bit today for something reeeally special! So I thought, why not….

Here is what I was doing today!

llama

On my 6’ table I have a workspace about what you see here! Such a slob! LOL

dinner

And for some reason my family thinks they need to eat!

My daughter and son-in-law have a
bulk food store in our little town. They also sell sandwiches, soup and burritos. I’ve been cooking 5-8 pounds of beans each week for them since about October! That’s probably close to 200# of beans! Surprised smile I cooked a batch for them last night, so today it was our turn!
Refried beans, rice, fajita mixture and fresh salsa! YUM! Thumbs up

That’s my Thursday! Next week you’ll get to see the finished llama card and hear the story behind it!Winking smile

It’s colored with Copics then cut with ODBD’s Poppy Die! How cool is that! I added Ultra Fine Flower Soft to the center and spritzed with Glimmer Mist too.

The sentiment is stamped on Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 3. Before cutting with the die, I sponged around the edges with Barn Door Distress ink. All cut on my Grand Calibur, so quick to do all at once!

Just wait till you see what the girls have in store for you tomorrow with our release blog hop!! Oh my… such bee-u-ti-ful things!!

A Peek and a Sketch

326clsup

I’m super excited about this April release from Our Daily Bread designs! To find out why, keep checking in! Winking smile

326EasterJoy

This is the sketch on Splitcoast.

Bird & Butterfly Labels stamped in Dusty Concord on SEI Couture and no coincidence that it coordinates with Spellbinders Labels 18! I trimmed around the outer edge of the embossed label, then cut another the same size. This piece was white cs that I DTP’d (direct to paper) with my Dusty Concord ink pad then gave it a good coat of Deep Plum Glimmer Mist.

326gm

All the DP is SEI Couture. The sentiment is from, Tulip Tag Set. Pearls from Want 2 Scrap, the border punch is Martha Stewart.

Fun Time at the Expo…and a Sneak Peek!

KellRegister

It was a busy two days and lots of fun!
I can’t even begin to count how many times someone said,
Your booth is just beautiful!” or “You have the most gorgeous cards on display!”.

What can I say… we have an AWESOME design team!

KellDemo

Kelley demo’d how to use our Custom Dies. Oh, wait till you see what’s coming April 1st!!

DawnMNT

I demo’d Flower Soft which is always a big hit! We figured we did about 125 FREE Make & Takes. Kelley is so generous, most if not all the other MNT’s were $3-$5! People were flabbergasted when they’d ask how much and I’d tell them, free!

RickKell

Be sure to check the list of shows to see if there is one coming to your area!

TLC318 MooseEdge

This is Father’s Day which will be released April 1. What a cool masculine set!

tlc318 clsup

I stamped it on Kraft and colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil. I also added some Flower Soft, some white gel pen and some fine tip pens in several colors. The DP is Prima Moulin Rouge.

For the Love of Purple…and Flowers!

WT waxpaper flower clsup

What a find when I visited my friend,
Lori Craig’s blog, and found this wax paper flower! How FUN!!

So, of course I HAD to make one!

Just fold layers of wax paper and die cut. Spellbinders Blossom 3 was used here. So easy on my Grand Calibur!

WT waxpaper flower1

Then punch a hole with your piercing tool, hold together with a brad and separate the layers!

WT waxpaper flower2

WT Purple Wax

The base is embossed with a Sizzix folder, “Frame”. I stamped the largest of the Fancy Labels (Spellbinders Labels 17) from Our Daily Bread designs in Dusty Concord distress ink. That luscious ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbon.

It is really a quick card to put together yet looks like you spent hours! Winking smile

Stop and say HI at the Memories Scrapbooking Expo tomorrow and Saturday!!

A Sketch, A Flower and Memories Scrapbooking Expo!

SC325 blk

I’m not sure what was more fun,
the layout or making the paper flower!

SC325 flower clsup

I used Spellbinders Blossom 3 and Martha Stewart’s Hydrangea punch for this flower. The paper is Prima’s Botanical and regular newsprint spritzed with Rose Tea Glimmer Mist. I took each of the Blossom 3’s, spritzed with water and carefully scrunched them then un-scrunched (very technical term!). I heat dried them some with my heat tool, smooshing (another techy term) as I went, to help shape them, then I glued them together. The Hydrangeas are in the center.

SC325 side

SC325 Showers of Blessings

This is the sketch on Splitcoast, see what I mean about being fun?!

I used Fancy Labels from Our Daily Bread designs, stamped in two Distress inks, Forest Moss and Tumbled Glass. Then I stamped the sentiment from Daffodil Tag Set in Forest Moss.

Martha Stewart punches were used on the DP and for the leaves. The leaves are more newsprint with Forest Moss swiped across it. The base is dry embossed with Grace’s Frame folder.

#56 Something New.. A Sassy Challenge

Mar22 blk

Our Sassy Challenge today is “something new”. Play along, all the info is on the Sassy Cheryl’s Challenge Blog.

I used  The Little Boy’s Flower, a recent new image and one I haven’t colored yet. Isn’t he sweet! I also used some DP, Basic Grey’s Hello Luscious, new at CHA! AND… also new at CHA, Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio 3. I cut the “ribbon” ends off to better fit my  layout.
The image panel is faux layered, meaning I used a ruler and Sharpie marker!
I sponged the edges with Bundled Sage and Tumbled Glass Distress ink.
The sentiment is by Judith.

I Will Answer You

IC276 clsup

I think the girls did an excellent job in picking their favorite scriptures for Our Daily Bread designs 3rd anniversary sets.

This card has Betty’s verse from Scripture Collection 5, and the another new Spellbinders compatible set (labels 17), Fancy Labels. The bird is from an older, yet favorite set of mine, Sing to the Lord.

I Will Answer

I’m excited about these Fancy Labels because I designed them. What a learning experience that was!! LOL! In the end, we had to ask for help as I just couldn’t get some of the lines to match up properly with the die… Lorelie to the rescue!!  That girl has skills!
Anyhoo, I’m tickled pink… more to come next month!!

The “Bluebird” was colored with Copics and is popped up. I love Bluebirds! I saw a pair flitting around the yard yesterday. We always have several pair that nest close by. The ribbon is wired, the bow done on the Bow Easy.
The paper is some older
Prima, embossed with a Sizzix folder.

**************

If you’re in the Columbus, Ohio area next Fri/Sat, stop by the Memories Scrapbooking Expo. I’ll be working the Our Daily Bread designs booth. Dave, from Mudd Puddles will be there too! Looking forward to seeing him again.

Hope your weekend is enjoyable!
