You’re A Keeper!

sc313 blk

Best Friends Are For Keeps! Yup!

I just love these digi pups, Doggie Pile, from Squigglefly! Just too cute!

Well, yesterday’s sketch challenge on Splitcoast proved to be too fun, so I had to do another card!

SC313 keepers

First, I colored them with Copics, then using my Scor-buddy I scored where the “cut line” would be for my horizontal piece and carefully cut up to the image with my little guillotine. I used a craft knife to cut around the pups. Then, using a Sharpie marker and a ruler, I faux’d the layer.
The sentiment is unknown.

I also incorporated the color challenge which was navy, olive and yellow!

sc313 clsup

I just love the expression of the bottom dog! haha!
The dp is DCWV, Martha Stewart border punch and I used foam mounting tape to pop up the “pup” layer.

Thanks for stopping!

It’s Out of the Box!

SC313 In His Time

The sketch today, that is! The sketch challenge on Splitcoast is my all time favorite…that’s half the battle right?!

This new Butterfly and matching die were perfect! (some of the new release from Our Daily Bread designs, Jan 1)

sc313 clsup

I stamped the Butterfly and colored it with Copics, then, using my Scor-buddy, I scored the line where I’d need to cut for the strip. I positioned my Butterfly die over the image and ran it through the Cuttlebug part way so it only cut out the top portion. (I could have stopped a little sooner! lol)

I sponged all the edges to match the Basic Grey Curio paper.

See that cool embossing?!! That’s another new item!! The Butterfly Embossing Plate! Woohoo!!

stamps: butterfly, faith
paper: basic grey curio, unknown cream
ink: memento tuxedo black, ranger walnut stain, brushed corduroy
tools & accessories: butterfly die, butterfly embossing plate, scor-buddy, copics, corner rounder, martha stewart punch, ink applicator, elmer’s paint pen, foam mounting tape

Let's Not Forget Why...

Wishing you a blessed Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve …. a variety post!

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"
Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Wrapping gifts, food preparation,
Pandora Christmas songs, fragrant candles burning… It’s Christmas Eve!

I crocheted this sweater for my granddog, Toby… (Lloyd hates it when I call him that… I think it’s funny)anyhoo, Toby loves his sweaters in the Winter! I found this yarn at GW Boutique the other day and had to make him one. The pictures aren’t real focused because it’s hard to get him to be “still” when he’s here! He and Bandit have to race around and have their playtime!

It’s colored with Copics, the verse is sponged while in the Spellbinders Labels 10 with Distress Milled Lavender. The butterfly also has Pearl Glimmer Mist.

This is a neat tool to use when heat embossing or spritzing the Glimmer Mist!
It is actually from my chalks…

You can’t have enough birthday cards on hand! Seems like I’m always needing one!

This is the sketch and color challenge on Splitcoast this week.

SC312 Happy Birthday Heart

This is Hearts Hearts Hearts from Mark’s Finest Papers. It’s colored with Copics, and a paint pen for the white centers.

sc312 clsup

After coloring, I went over the image with my Versamarker and clear embossed it.

sc312 pin

The baker’s twine, pin and charm are also from MFP… but… the charm was gold and the pin head silver! Not suitable for this card!

 *Designer Tip*
Change the color with Copics!  I also used an Elmer’s Painty pen in the center. I also faux layered this piece by using a black Sharpie/ruler and a fine tip red Sharpie!

stamps: hearts hearts hearts-mfp
ink: memento tuxedo black
paper: bazzill smooth white, unknown
other: copics, versamarker, clear ep, heat tool, ruler, sharpie markers, cuttlebug/ef, paper studio punch, elmer’s painty pen, baker’s twine-mfp, charm-mfp, corsage pin-mfp, foam dimensionals

Well, I hope I’ve inspired you to try something new!

MVVL blk

My best friend and I joke
about having a cuppa MVVL
when things get crazy!! LOL
Open-mouthed smile

*********************

I made this card to announce a new DT I’m starting, Squigglefly, a digital stamp company!

MVVL

This is Caffeine Canine, by Brian Lock, colored with Copics. The sentiment is computer generated and sponged while inside the Labels 9 die.

Christmas Just a Little Early!

How FUN when Mr. Brown
brought me a box last Thursday!

grand caliburA Spellbinders Grand Calibur! Oh my! It’s so smooth! AND quiet! There isn’t that “ratchet” sound as you crank it like with the Wizard, and it goes both directions. Don’t get me wrong, I loved my Wizard…but moooooover over, there’s a new machine in the studio! Thumbs up

gc plates

No guess work as to which plate to use! They’re colored coded and marked!

ic blk

So, I just had to use it today for the Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast. Oh my, what inspiration we had to choose from too! Don Cherry’s (hockey commentator) wardrobe! And what better image to use than Hockey Sweep Snowman, a digital from Sassy Cheryl’s.

IC263 Hockey Happy Birthday

He’s colored with Copics, paper pieced (jacket, pants), masked and airbrushed.
*Designer tip* I used to have trouble with Copics smearing my printer ink until someone told me to spray the image with hairspray first! Printer inks make a difference, so if you’re using a “generic” cartridge like off the internet… to save money like my hubby… you might have a problem! This particular time I printed on MY new printer upstairs (with ink that came with the printer) and had no problem, not using hairspray! woohoo!

ic clsup

The sentiment is from Innovative Stamp Creations, Friends Are Special.

gc cut

I used Grand Labels1, putting the die just off the edge of the fold, so it would keep the shape but still “fold” and not cut the fold entirely.

gc cut inside

gc emboss1

gc emboss

I can see me using these Labels 1 a lot!
The Grand Calibur gives such a nice embossed edge!

grand labels

stamp: digital hockey sweep snowman-sassy cheryl’s, friends are special-innovative stamp creations
paper: georgia pacific white, bazzill, dcwv winter
ink: memento tuxedo black
accessories: spellbinders grand labels 1, copics, copic airbrush system, sakura white gel pen

Well, thanks for stopping by today!
Hope you enjoyed your stay!

More Sparkly Snow!

CCM Moose blk

A beautiful snowy day here…
all of you in NY don’t hate me for thinking it’s beautiful! LOL

A Christmas card using A Walk in the Woods by Mark’s Finest Papers , the sentiment from Bells on Bobtail, and a velvet moose die cut from Creative Cuts & More for this snowy scene!

CCM Moose

I used watercolor paper, stamped and embossed the trees, then spritzed with water and using a waterbrush “painted” Adirondack reinkers for my color.

CCM Moose side

The snow is liquid applique with glitter embossing powder sprinkled on before heating. The “snowflakes” were made with Elmer’s Painty pen.

stamps: A Walk in the Woods, Bells on Bobtail – Mark’s Finest Papers
paper: Mark’s Finest Papers, Basic Grey Jovial, watercolor
ink: Ranger Black Soot, Adirondack dye reinkers
other: Spellbinders Labels 10/Classic Ovals, Cuttlebug/Winter Borders/Swiss Dots, CC&M Velvet Moose die cut, liquid applique, glitter ep, waterbrush, Elmer’s Painty pen, dimensionals, fine tip artist pen

Sunshine Makes Diamonds

diamond snow

The computer room faces south,
the sun is shining brightly on this cold, cold Winter day!
The bushes just outside the window, covered with snow, look like diamonds have been sprinkled over them…ahhhh, beautiful!

Several cards to share
with you today, I hope you enjoy them!

sc311 blk

This is Blessings, Full of Grace collection, Our Daily Bread designs.

SC311 Name Them

This Basic Grey Curio is beautiful paper, but it is darkly distressed around the edges…so if you cut it up you lose that beautiful look. Using several shades of Copics, Walnut Stain and Black Soot Distress inks I was able to recreate it!!

*******************************

Kurt blk

This next card was done for a dear friend, who along with his now deceased wife, helped get me started in llamas. Kurt is now in a nursing home. I try to send a card from time to time, keeping him up to date on my llamas, 4h club etc.

TLC303 Peace Be With You_ks

Using A Walk In The Woods from Mark’s Finest Papers, I started with a torn sheet of copy paper as a mask and randomly stamped the trees. Then using the same piece of paper, I sponged distress inks to create my winter wonderland. I also sponged the trees and using a small dauber (dedicated to “blue”) with whatever residual ink was left in it, sponged the shadows. Elmer’s Painty pen was used for the snow on the trees.

Kurt clsup

Hope you’re staying warm, cozy and safe where ever you are! And don’t forget to count your blessings…
