Jen gave us our challenge today,
Thinking of Love.
Here is what I did.

Nov30 Sharing Love

Isn’t she darling?! This is “Sharing the Love”.
The sentiment is from A Walk in the Woods, Mark’s Finest Papers.

Nov30 side

She’s colored with Copics, white gel pen accents and sponged with Distress ink.

Nov30 clsup

The eyes have Spica black gel glitter pen, looks gold here, but, cross my heart… they’re black.

*Disclaimer* before the boss says anything, I think our printer needs aligned! It printed with a shadow!

A Faux Tiled Christmas

TLC301 blk

One more Christmas card down!
I need to count up today and see how many more I need…crunch time!

TLC301 side

Today’s Technique Lover’s Challenge on Splitcoast is Faux Tile. I love these challenges because it MAKES me either learn a new technique or reminds me of ones I haven’t done in a long time! Like this one!  I love the look and you can really make it as simple or complex as you want. This one was a little more involved coloring in all the poinsettias, but it would have looked nice just stamped too!

I used Our Daily Bread designs Poinsettia Background and one of the new sets coming this week (Dec 1st), Christmas Blessings

Pre-order and save and you can still get your cards made in time to send! Winking smile

TLC301 Sending Love

There is a tutorial on Julie’s blog for the faux tile. After coloring, I “grouted” my tiles with a white Elmer’s Painter pen. The entire tiled layer is embossed with clear ep, All the red layers are “faux colored” with a Copic marker and Barn Door distress ink.

Lots of posts this week…so stay tuned!

Don’t believe I said WHEN I’d pick a winner, but because of Karen’s whining…. OOPS! Surprised smileDid I just say her name? btw, she didn’t comment here on my blog but on on Facebook, so I included her anyway. Sorry, Karen old girl, but you didn’t win!

Congratulations to Jan!! Jan I’ve emailed you your code so you can go on your shopping spree (from the comforts of your cozy home!)

********************************

Here is a card I did some weeks back but never posted. It worked perfectly for the Inspiration Challenge today on SCS, the Country Porch. Cute stuff!

IC260 I Love Winter

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving

To my blogger friends…I found this poem online.

Most of All

Thanksgiving Day brings to mind
the blessings in our lives
that usually go unnoticed:
a home that surrounds us
with comfort and protection;
delicious food, for pleasure
in both eating and sharing;
clothes to snuggle up in,
books and good entertainment
to expand our minds;
and freedom to worship our God.
Most of all we are thankful
for our family and friends,
those treasured people
who make our lives extra special.
You are part of that cherished group.
On Thanksgiving, (and every day)
we appreciate you.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thankful…#39 Sassy Challenge, Prizes, And a Shopping Trip!

Nov23 blk

Our Sassy Challenge is Thankful
I’m thankful for many things,
probably too many to list in a blog post!

Join us this week. Just make sure you use an image from Sassy Cheryl's, post to your blog (or online gallery at PCP, SNR, SCS, etc), then link that post back here using Mr. Linky.

FIRST-SNOW-PLATTERIn addition to our regular $5 gift certificate, Cheryl is offering some of her darling licensed ceramic pieces as special gifts over the next several weeks.

Isn’t it CUTE!!

I called this one “Thankful For You”.

Nov23 Thankful for You

This is Simple Prayer, isn’t she sweet! I love that quote by Eleanor Roosevelt…perfect with the digi and our challenge! She’s colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with baby oil and paper pieced with DCWV Amber Autumn.

Nov23 side

I made the teeny ribbon strips out of a scrap of paper, colored with a Copic and tied a teensy bow! The quote is hanging from a “faux” brad. Three layers of scrap cs glued together and colored with a black marker, punched with my Cropadile…then just a little white gel pen.

Vintage Ornaments

lg ornament hollyedge blk

I’m shooting for December 4th to have ALL my Christmas cards done! Think I’ll make it? 32 days left till Christmas! (I know, I know…don’t remind you!)

Helping to celebrate the 300th Technique Challenge on Splitcoast, which by the way is a wealth of knowledge…so many I need to go back and do them again as I enjoyed them the first time! We were to go through the list and pick at least 2 techniques…the more the merrier!

Here’s another sneak peek at the new
Ornaments set from
Our Daily Bread designs.

lg ornament hollyedge

My techniques are #22 Dry Embossing, #263 Very Vintage, and #265 Childhood Memeories. (lol, there could be more, but 300 is a lot to look through!)

After stamping and coloring (and die cutting), I used my small stylus and a foam pad to outline the poinsettia on the front side…then flipped it to the back side, outlined it again, and finally using my large stylus rounded out the petals. It’s a lot easier to see in person.

lg ornament hollyedge clsup

If you’re ever stumped on what to do, take a look through the techniques! You’re bound to find something that tickles your fancy!!

stamp: ornaments- our daily bread designs (dec 1st)
ink: memento tuxedo black, ranger distress broken china, stormy sky
paper: georgia pacific white, basic grey jovial, bazzill
other: copics, spellbinders, sakura white gel pen, spica gold gel pen, cuttlebug/ef, gold embroidery floss, martha stewart holly punch, stylus, foam dimensionals

Now, I need to go tally up and see how close I am! Winking smile

Thanks for stopping!

Vintage Ornaments….A Sneak Peek!

WT blk

I’m really excited about a new set coming from Our Daily Bread designs! Why?? You ask? Not only is it beautiful, but it was made to be used along with Spellbinders Heirloom Ornament! YES!! It is also gorgeous on its own too.

Our Daily Bread designs is so proud and pleased to be chosen by the Spellbinders company as a Preferred Stamp Partner.  Our partnership with Spellbinders will be a blessing to the stamping community as well, as we expand our line to include  perfect match sentiments, Scriptures and images to Spellbinders products.  We look forward to a long and blessed partnership with such a fine product as Spellbinders.

A challenge on SCS today was to use brown….well, you know I’m partial to “fallish” colors anyhow, so BROWN was easy!

WT clsup

This is Ornaments which will be available Dec 1. It was stamped with Frayed Burlap Distress ink and embossed. It is colored with Copics and sponged with  Vintage Photo Distress ink while still in the die. The sentiments and The Paper Studio Mirabelle DP edges were stamped and sponged in Walnut Stain Distress ink (sentiments are embossed)

I curled the ornament some to give it dimension, then rolled up a scrap of cs to pop it up!

WT roll

WT297 Wishing You

This is going to make Christmas card making sooooo FUN!!

By the way… Kelley will be running a special!
Free Shipping for Thanksgiving weekend (Thursday-Sunday) as a thank you to her customers.  She will also have blog candy of a free Bread Basket Bundle that will chosen from the comment area of the
blog post.

It’s A Creative Cuts & More Christmas Blog Hop!

Nov17HopBlk

I’m tickled to be a Guest Designer
this month for Terry at
Creative Cuts & More!

If you came here from Holly Brown’s blog then you’re in the right place. If not, no worries, just go back to Die Cut Diva where you’ll find the entire list.

Our theme is Christmas. CCM has all kinds of projects (in a bazzillion colors and textures) to help take the stress out of creating! They come cut, scored…ready to pretty up!

And to help with your Holiday Creating….

Terry will give away a Christmas card kit.  All you need to do is

  • Hop to each designer’s blog and leave a comment on each one.
  • Then go back to Die Cut Diva and say that you commented to be entered into the drawing!

****************************************************

Now, here are my projects!
I chose a
Pop-Up Card and Match Box.

Nov17Hop1

Nov17Hop2

This is Blessed Christmas and the Poinsettia Die from Our Daily Bread designs. It’s colored with Copics and Pearl Glimmer Misted.

The DP is Basic Grey Jovial. I used Martha Stewart’s Holly punch, American Crafts velvet ribbon and some bling I had in my stash.

Nov17Hop inside

This is what the inside looks like with the “pop-up”. The Serpentine Green Stardream Metallics cardstock is just beautiful!
I embossed the base with Cuttlebug’s Scrollwork.
Holly Tag set and Tag Die by Our Daily Bread designs on more of the Jovial. I partially cut the tag layer with the die then finished with the holly punch.

Nov17Hop3

Easily put together, this Match Box #01 large (Kisses-Bazzill Criss Cross) is the perfect size for any little gift!
More BG Jovial and AC velvet ribbon. The sentiment is from the Mistletoe Tag set.

Nov17Hop pearls

I didn’t have any red pearls or rhinestones, so I colored these with a Copic!

Now, it’s time to hop on to Lisa Somerville who I’m sure will amaze you with more CCM!

Thanks for stopping!

A Musical Holiday

Nov12 Musical Holiday CCM blk

What a cute box
to tuck a little something in
for that special someone come Christmas!

Nov12 Musical Holiday CCM box

Terry at Creative Cuts and More has more fun stuff than you can shake a stick at! This is the Box With Handle & Layer, Bazzill Smoothies Kiwi and Lime Crush. I embossed the entire box with Cuttlebug’s Holly Ribbons folder.

This new image is from Mark’s Finest Papers, Musical Holiday, available now! It’s colored with Copics. I clear embossed it for ease of cutting the fussy parts. It’s layered on a piece of red, also embossed with Holly Ribbons, from MFP. The ribbon is also from MFP.

Nov12 Musical Holiday CCM box side

On the sides I stamped the music score from the set.

For more inspiration with this set,

As you can see, I added the lighthouse from this set by masking the house and trees then stamping.

Nov11 WelcomeHome CCM clsup

It’s colored with Copics, masked and airbrushed. The windows have Sakura glitter pen on the panes of glass, the snow is Tulip Puff Paint. On some of the “snow” before I hit it with my heat tool, I sprinkled on Embossing Glitter. The card front is embossed with Grace’s Frame, a Cuttlebug folder.

This is a “pop-up” card from Creative Cuts and More. It’s Bazzill Stardream Metallics in Sapphire. Shimmery!
