Happy Birthday Sassy Boss!! plus Sassy Challenge #35

Oct26 blk

Today is Cheryl's Birthday!

Hope you have a wonderful day Boss Lady!

Our Sassy Challenge for today is Anything But Square. Also, be sure to check out the challenge blog to see about our Guest Designer spot!!

I chose Snowman Parts for my first card...well, actually it was my only card until a friend of ours had an "incident". More on that after this card!

Oct26 Round Parts Can't you just imagine all the pieces for building a snowman all thrown into a basket...what fun! It's colored with Copics and a little gel pen for accents. Sponged the edges with whatever "brown" distress ink was last used in my dauber.

Now, for my second card...I'm sorry...I couldn't resist!

Oct26 Bob's Fire blk

Ok, so, Sunday afternoon was beautiful...a little blustery though and certainly NOT good weather for "burning a little debris"! A friend of ours (about 3 miles down the road) decided he'd just burn a little pile. He carefully watched the fire and had his shove at hand to make sure it stayed contained to his little pit.

But...what's this?... a little smoke coming from over the hill? Hmmm, must have been a spark that blew over there...better take trusty shovel and put it out! When he topped the hill it was more than just a little fire! In the end about 10 acres, 3 fire companies and Bob's pride were scorched! Thankfully no one was hurt, the crops had been harvested and no property damage! (I'm sure his neighbors are VERY thankful!)

So, you see....
I HAD TO MAKE THIS CARD,
using
Fireman John!

It also works for Cheryl's birthday!!
HAHA...her cake must have a gazillion candles!
(don't blame me, SHE gave me the idea!)

Oct26 Bob's FireInside it says... Heard you had a BLAZING time! It's colored with Copics, white/glitter gel pen, masked and airbrushed using my cloud template. (sentiment computer generated)

Bob has a good sense of humor...I can't wait for him to get the card!

Foliage......A Beautiful Day!

WT293 blk

I sure hope you're not tired of me talking about the beautiful Fall colors! Our weather has been exceptionally beautiful, but I hear frost in the forecast...

Several challenges on Splitcoast today are to use fabric and to make your own embellishment. I combined the two and made my leaf (embellishment) out of fabric!

WT293 clsup

Stampers tend to hoard and save all sorts of things telling friends and family... DON'T THROW THAT AWAY, I CAN STAMP ON IT!! This is my old clothespin bag! Yup! It was a natural color, cotton that I knew some day would be used for a project!

WT293-HYCCT21 Fall Is NearI used two new sets from Innovative Stamp Creations, Fall Is Near and Foliage. The background is Polished Stone and I only partially stamped the corner of Foliage to get my leaf. I colored it with Copics, then smeared Ranger Matte Accents over it. I wanted it to not fray and hold some shape. Really, a very quick card to make!

Take some time to enjoy the outdoors while Mother Nature is cooperating! I know I am!

Seasons, Princesses and Dancing Fairies

sc303 blk

My daughter, granddaughter and I walk every day...weather permitting. (lol...Jorden is in the stroller)... what is it about piles of leaves that make your feet shuffle through them then resume walking normally when you hit the bare sidewalk? I love the sound of the crunch-swoosh-crunch!

I'm sharing several cards with you today, the first one being a monochromatic, as the colors are fading more and more with the coming of Winter.

This is Our Daily Bread designs Randi's Song, Missing You and Brocade Background stamped in Chalk ink Burnt Sienna, Chestnut Roan and Distress Walnut Stain...colored with Copics then sponged with Distress inks.

SC303 Mercy and LoveOne of my favorite hymns...
Great Is Thy Faithfulness.
Read through the verses sometime...
beautiful!

This next card was done for the Hope To challenges on Splitcoast, today's being a sketch plus it had to have a "dancer" on it. I used Sassy Cheryl's Sassy Fairy.

HYCCT20 Sassy Dancer 1LOL...there is a little dot by the middle bling that isn't ON the card and I didn't notice it until AFTER I'd finished in PS!
Hard to see in the photo but she has glitter pen on her wings and wand.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Now, this next one, I did yesterday for one of the other Hope To challenges... Inspired by little girls... I went with my two youngest granddaughters who love everything PRINCESS! And this AWEsome fancy fold! This is Paola's sample.

HYCCT19 Little GirlsPrincess This is another Sassy image, Prissy Sassy Jazzy, colored with Copics. The sentiment is Stampabilities. That gorgeous paper is by Prima.

Hope your day is wonderful
where ever you may be! and that I've inspired you to try something new...

or to go shuffle through some leaves!

Furry Friends...#34 Sassy Challenge

Oct19 blk

Our Sassy Challenge , Furry Friends. You can join along you know!

Just use your favorite Sassy Cheryl image, check out our rules, post to your blog or SCS, PCP gallery, then link back here using Mr. Linky.
The lucky winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to Sassy Cheryl's shop.

I did a clean and simple card just embossing around the image (Grace's Frame) and coloring with Copics. After the bear was colored, I took a piece of rag, dampened it with blender fluid and dabbed at his "fur". This removes color and adds texture!Oct19 sideThis is A Big Bear Hug, the sentiment is from Innovative Stamp Creations, Friends Are Special.

Making It Shimmer

Oct blk

Here's a sneak peek at one of the beautiful
new sets coming this week from
Innovative Stamp Creations, Joyful Christmas.

TLC295 Christmas Memories I stamped the background (one of the images from the set) in Versamark, then rubbed Pearlescent Chalks. Then spritzed it with Perfect Pearls mixed with water and Distress ink. .

For the ornament, I colored it with Copics...then with some water on an acrylic block, sprinkled some Perfect Pearls, mixed with my brush and "painted" the ornament only.

Oct Joyful Christmas side

To 3-D the "ball"of the ornament, I turned it over and placed it on some cling cushion, took my stylus and formed it.

Needle Felting Meets Card Making...and some News!

felt blk

You'll be seeing some new creations
from me using
Mark's Finest Papers.
Starting in November
I'll be on their Design Team!
Yeah, I'm excited!

Faith (owner) sent me several months releases along with a couple from this month! Today's HYCCT and Inspiration challenges on Splitcoast were perfect for this cute Polar Bear! To use felt, and the inspiration piece I used had snowflakes.

felt side I needle felted some sheep's wool and stamped the bear from the set Time To Chill and cut it out. Also felted a little for the "snow". Then stamped the snowflakes from the same set with Versamark and heat embossed Holographic and Glacier White embossing powder.

HYCCT16 Felt Chill A different card for sure, but fun to make.

Hope your weekend is wonderful!

Randi's Window

More Fall color! The leaves continue to amaze me each day. I think I can't see a more beautiful tree, then I walk down the next block and see one ablaze with COLOR!

Here is a card I did a couple weeks ago but never blogged it...I know I know...lazy butt that I am! LOL! I called it Randi's Window after the stamp set and also because the challenge was to make some sort of "window" on your card.

I stamped the leaf image from Randi's Song  in 3 colors and cut out the leaf (it is a square image with script behind the leaf)...then I set about to dampen it, scrunch it up, carefully un-scrunch it, let it dry and applied Distress inks DTP (direct to paper). THEN I spritzed them with water again (this let the ink bleed), scrunched and un-scrunched and let them dry.
The Wood Background speaks for itself....stamped it, sponged it with Distress inks.
The leaf window is a Cuttlebug die. I stamped Ecc 3:1-8 on white cs, sponged with some Distress ink and put it behind the leaf cutout.
The "window frame" is Spellbinders Labels 1. Sentiment is from Missing You.

My favorite time of year!
I never get tired of its beauty!

Enjoy your day and as always...

Show Me Some Dimension #33, A Sassy Challenge

Oct12 blk And I don't mean the "5th Dimension"!
Up Up and Awa-a-a-ay....
LOL, actually 2 of my friends went to a concert recently! (I'm dating myself!)...but it was fun reminiscing as one of them was telling me about the evening.

Okay...so...on to our Sassy Challenge, another one from Tracy... to add dimension to your card. You can join along you know!

Just use your favorite Sassy Cheryl image, check out our rules, post to your blog or SCS, PCP gallery, then link back here using Mr. Linky.
The lucky winner will receive a $5 gift certificate to Sassy Cheryl's shop.

Oct12 side This is On a Roll..
I tell ya, that Cheryl has some IMAGINATION!! lol!

If you remember last week we were to add paper piecing to our card. I used all solid cardstock, so this week I thought I'd piece again with some patterns. I added dimension by cutting out the legs and popping them up.

Oct12 Roll Up Snowman

Oct12 clsupIt's colored with Copics, white gel pen accents and a white Elmer's Painty Pen for the giant snowman/ball! I colored it first with Copics, added some Prismacolor pencil, then the Painty Pen. The Painty Pen added some texture too. All the patterned paper is DCWV Winter Collection.

What Do You See When You Take A Walk?

tlcblkThe leaves here in West Central Ohio
are just beginning to turn.
We walk everyday and oh, the colors we see!

I have several Splitcoast challenges to share today... wet paper stamping, make a card inspired from something you see when you walk, and make a flower for your card.

tlc sideI love the look that the damp paper give the ink and image, the ink bleeds some, softens...it's almost dream like.

I stamped the leaves from  Randi's Song on spritzed regular old Georgia Pacific white cardstock (you can use watercolor paper..I just chose not to). I used Rusty Hinge, Barn Door, Wild Honey and Crushed Olive Distress inks...and set it aside to dry.

Then I stamped the leaves again, along with the large Maple leaf in the set and cut them out.

tlc clsup  I spritzed the leaves real good and crumpled them up. Carefully, I un-crumpled them and drug several of the same Distress inks over them. I spritzed and crumpled until I was happy with the results. Then I dried them with my heat tool.

TLC294 There Is A SeasonI stamped Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 in Forest Moss Distress ink once the background was dry, then gave it a good coat of Glimmer Mist !

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

This next card features Country Gal, from Sassy Cheryl's, a digital image. I just got this Amber Autumn matt stack by DCWV...gorgeous colors!

hycct11 clsup

She's colored with Copics with some white gel pen accents. The background is sponged with Distress inks.

HYCCT11 Just For YouThe flowers and leaves are a Martha Stewart punch, rhinestones are in the centers and also on her hat. The sentiment is from Wonders of Nature by Innovative Stamp Creations.

We're sure enjoying some beautiful weather...I know it can't last forever. Hope it's beautiful where YOU are!

Pumpkin Carving Day!

blk

Seven of the nine grandkids came over today to carve pumpkins with Uncle Timothy! The rules? He cuts the top out but they have to scoop out the "guts" with their hands! Then if they're old enough they carve their pumpkin OR mom/dad/Uncle Timothy helps carve theirs.

Before I share the FUN pictures, here is a card made for several Splitcoast challenges. Bee-lieve in a Cure by Anna Wight from Whipper Snapper Designs.
