A Winner...and a Special Sketch!

The winner of myBlogaversary is....

Sharon in NE said...

Picking a favorite was easy because I remembered this post...it was the "fishlips". A tutorial in the beginning of 2009. You embossed the fish and brayered over them, then spritzed, giving it a bubbly look. I always thought that and the "fishlips" was so clever. Thanks for all your work and posts over the 3 years. Always enjoy them.

Congratulations Sharon!! This particular post was such a fun one and a favorite of mine too! Check your email *wink*

The Sketch Challenge on Splitcoast is a very special one... #300! And Rox has some prizes in store for those that play along! Goodness, I checked back in my gallery and about the earliest SC I think I did was #53!!! I haven't missed very many up to #300 either!

SC300 blkI did two cards for the SC, one for each of the DT's I'm on that donated PRIZES for this special event!! Woohooo!!

This is a new digi, Fun In The Snow Snowman, from Sassy Cheryl's.

SC300 clsupHe's colored with Copics, highlights with a white gel pen, Labels 16 edges sponged with Distress ink, snow with Liquid Pearls and spritzed with Pearl Glimmer Mist. The DP is Winter DCWV.

SC300 Fun In The Snow

My next card is Blessed Christmas using the Poinsettia Die that you'll be able to purchase Friday, October 1st at Our Daily Bread designs.

SC300 It's colored with Copics then spritzed with Glimmer Mist. I didn't want to hide this beautiful new Jovial Basic Grey paper, so I made a frame with two Deckled Rectangles. The frame is popped up as is the poinsettia. It has a Dew Drop in the center. That's an EK Success border punch under the reindeer.

SC300 Jovial PoinsettiaI hope you get time to drop by Splitcoast , check out the SC and play along...YOU could be a winner!

And thanks again to all those that have stuck with me all these years, and thanks for helping me celebrate!

As always.... Thanks for stopping!

A Beautiful Day with Fiber...and a Front Moving In!

WoolGatheringTable

We had wonderful weather for a day out at A Wool Gathering, and it seemed to be a good sized crowd.

People really got to see what llamas "do"...we had Alarm Call demos just about all day as Willy (not in the picture) was bothered by some goats over in the pasture and had to let everybody know about it periodically from 9-5! Shadow, on the other hand, was bothered by Willy sounding off all the time and pacing around the pen, getting in HIS space...so he gave the Spitting demos!

All in all, though, people enjoyed petting them and asking the usual questions. Most of them the normal ones about spitting, shearing etc. And I got some much needed plying and spinning done!

I was in the animal tent with several types of sheep, goats, the sheep shearing demo, and Jeff with his bunnies (also has goats).

WoolGatheringJeff Lloyd came back in the afternoon with the Snow boys (grandsons) who had a blast running around. They got to make several ropes in the kid's tent, make felt and some other things.

The Society for Creative Anachronism is always there dressed in Renaissance style. We even got to see some jousting!

WoolGatheringJousting1f  WoolGatheringJousting2 Preston had fun sitting with Jeb Mac (Jeff McKinley) and his wife, Carolina Pearl who entertain the kids playing a farmhouse fiddle, banjo, lap dulcimer and other instruments. I think this one was Old McDonald's Farm... lol

WoolGatheringPreston1WoolGatheringPreston2

One of our last visitors before we packed up...was this lady with an apple! Apples around llamas?!! Seriously? Ooh boy! Willy was the first to get a bite, but Shadow soon dominated the situation and ended up with the entire thing!

I never got her name...I just called her the Random Lady with an Apple... which she quickly added, from New Hampshire! So, here's the Random Lady from New Hampshire with an Apple....

WoolGatheringRandomNH Lady1  WoolGatheringRandomNH Lady2 WoolGatheringRandomNH Lady3

You still have time to go today, although I won't be there. Lots to see and do for all ages!! Why not make it a family outing... and go to A Wool Gathering!

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

After getting home and unpacking, a front moved in... some really cool clouds. I don't think we ever got any rain though!

Ransom...White... & Puns? Plus Something Coming!

f4a30 blk

You're probably wondering what all that title has in common! Three different challenges! LOL

Two challenges on Splitcoast, the WT to make a card with a "Ransom" look to it, the F4A to make a card with a "Pun" and Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge "Bright White".

First I want to share this hilarious (at least I thought so!) pun... ready?

Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he  suffered from bad breath.  This made him (oh, man, this is so bad, it's good)
... a super-calloused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA...love it

!

Now for my card!

f4a30 flat I just love Bronte and Lewis from Mo's Digital Pencil Too.! This is a long card that fits into a business size envelope, one piece of cardstock.
I printed the pun on the computer in different fonts.

F4A30 Life if Full It's colored with Copics, accented with white gel pen.
Isn't this SO TRUE!! LOL!

Now, are you wondering about the "Something Coming"?

Next week is my 3 year Blogaversary! WoW! So, I'm going to have some candy one day next week...you'll have to be watching!!

Thanks for stopping!

Some Skeered Punkins and Sassy Cheryl's #29

Sept14 blk

Our Sassy Challenge today
is to use a Spellbinder's die.
I DO love my Spellbinders!

I used Triple Jacks and Beaded Circles. Actually I think these three are just in awe of all the cuteness Cheryl conjures up and the awesome challenge this week!

Sept14 Skeered PunkinsI left the die in place, masked the pumpkins and moon and airbrushed the background. Then I only masked the pumpkins, colored the moon in with my Elmer's Painty white pen then airbrushed it.

Sept14 Skeered PunkinsMoon clsup  I love how the painty pen gives the moon some texture!

Sept14 Skeered Punkins clsup When my pumpkins were done, I colored in the eyes, noses and mouths with a Gelly Roll pen!

Watermelons and Sketches

watermelon blk

My grandson, Gabriel, grew watermelons in their garden. And, WOW, did he have watermelons! They're so sweet...mmmmm!

GabrielLeah6 Here he is with his sister, Leah

Our garden is winding down but by no means done! I'm busy still doing tomatoes and apples!

~*~*~*~*~

Here are a couple cards I did this week for a challenge on Splitcoast, same sketch but totally different looking results!

WT287 Peace Outside Our Daily Bread designs Brocade Borders cut with the new Brocade Borders die, Peace and Brocade Background stamped with Clearsnap chalk ink, Prussian Blue.

SC297 Journey to Another Beginning And this one, from Innovative Stamp Creations, Sketch of Roses II. I stamped the rose onto the Kraft Fair Isle cut piece, colored with Prismacolor pencils blended with OMS, then cut squares with my Spellbinders to spotlight it. I also stamped the background from the set on the die cut piece and the one layer which are both sponged with Distress inks.

Hope your day is wonderful where ever you are... it's beginning to feel like Fall here, a nice "crispness" to the air! Ahhh, love it!
